"Always have to dodge all the craters in the parking lot; definitely needs repaving. Also looks dirty inside. Toilet paper is cheap though."
"Items that say there clearanced on it don't ring up at the register as marked down and the cashier doesn't correct it. Bought DG brand sink stoppers that don't work , and DG brand peel n stick wall hooks that fell right down."
"They usually have what I need. The prices are variable, some are lower that Walmart, and some are higher. Employees are very friendly and helpful. I never feel like I am bothering them. The store Manager is really great."
"Store needs to be expanded due to community demand for goods and more staff. I went in on a Saturday and there was only one employee who opened the store by themselves until another employee came in and closed by themselves. First that is very dangerous to put your good employees in danger like that and second your customer is waiting in line for over a 20 minute waiting period on being checked out at the register. This is the district or regional managers fault by not giving the good managers there adequate help. Remember when you have enough people to put up merchandise in the store but also help customers it will generate more capital and revenue not just for dollar general but for the town. I absolutely hate to see good people overworked for less pay just because they love their job and community they serve. I hope this gets to the Dollar General regional managment...you guys are killing your own business and careers by cutting funds and budgets to these store. By making your employees try to explain why thing's are the way they are because of your inadequate managing skills. Heres some advice, try building a better understanding of what certain stores need because none are the same, communities differ from town to town. If a store isn't making enough money that usually means that either product isn't on the shelves, which an employee can't do if they are running registers, or setting up for the next seasonal section, and trying to put merchandise up. You can't have both...you need more staff...more room for merchandise..and most of all more compassion for those good employees who have been putting up with this type of mismanagement...not local..but regional..because you guys are the ones taking everything that is essential to your local manager in being able to have staff payroll and have appropriate stocking solutions...Since this store has been open staffing, and needing more room has been an ongoing need for over 10 years. Just think how much revenue was lost due to the fact of customers leaving for having to wait so long, or merchandise still trying to be put up when that merchandise could have been sold if only you had the resources to put it out on the floor before the store opened, I heard years ago that when a truck was scheduled all the employees came in and emptied the truck and had all merchandise put up on the shelves after the store closed at 9pm and had all product up in only 4 hours with full staff for only those 4 hours..if all of it was put up before next day opening then more product would be sold and more money made...and you could schedule more staff for the influx....please take it to heart how hard these people are working and get them the help they need.."
"Great place to take a break when you are on the road. Lots of stuff to look at in the gift shop. Breakfasts are good and fast. Breaded okra is delicious."
