"When I went to Tom James about a year ago, there were only bad reviews and a lot of them! I don't know how they managed to have them erased and replaced with only good ones but they do not deserve any good reviews! I spent $5,000 dollars for 2 suits and a blouse that was supposed to be "custom made" but it was not. Melissa was the 1st person to help me and she was really nice but had absolutely no experience in this field. When it came time to try on the 2 suits, they did not fit at all and were not what I asked for. Big shoulder pads, not fitted right etc.. Doug Kidd stepped in and pinned things and when I came back the suit that needed fitting looked better but still was not really flattering and looked more like a mans suit then a woman's. They reassured me not to worry as alterations were free! I asked them (both were in the room, and I have a witness) when/if I lose weight will the alterations still be covered and they both said yes again. Now Doug is saying he will bring it to "his"tailor" and pay them, and then I will pay him! What does that say? That not only will I be charged for the alterations that were assured to me would be free, but if the alterations are too much, the suits will have to be remade and that will be mean my $5,000 will just be wasted. I will now dispute this with my Am Express and with the BBB. I am a professional woman who needs to look put together and I am working in suits that are embarrassing! The fabric is good, but they never got the fit right. How dare they lie to me!!!"
