New Ming Garden Buffet and Grill

"Hair in the pudding. Manager response "Not my fault, customer nasty too." This was about 2 years ago. Haven't been back since. Had to almost fight to get a discount. What happened to the days your food was automatically free? Especially when I didn't know it until it was in my mouth."

"Great selection of food, place was very clean including the bathrooms. Well stocked buffet. Great selection of shrimp. Food has been fresh on every visit we've been here so far. A few of the waitresses here are not very pleasant. Especially the one that is on her phone through her earbuds 24/7, she is always more concerned about her phone calls than her customers"

"The restaurant was supposedly new and we had to pull it up on Google maps. (We are from out of town! )Google maps led us to the wrong side of the street to where the new construction is on buildings and the backside of the restaurant. We had to circle all the way around 3 blocks to get back to the front. Once inside, we were sitted right away. I had to tell the waitress what I wanted to drink 2 times and not a coke 1 time, she didn't understand me. But that was ok, I was a little unsure of what I wanted anyway. I got a sweet tea. It was very sweet. My husband got Dr. Pepper. (Pepsi products available) The restaurant was very clean and organized other than 1 employee laying her head down on a table to sleep/rest to my left and to my right towards the restrooms 2 other employees were snapping beans. The buffet looked appetitizing with a variety of food/salad(and fruit), desserts and even sushi. But the hot foods were COLD. You could even see steam coming from under neath the hot plates. Some of the fried foods were over fried/too greasy! I didn't even bother with salad or dessert! My husband said the Generals tso's was very sweet and did not taste like the dish! A lot of the fried food was rubbery and over cooked. I was completely turned off from this experience! Also, in the middle of eating, one of the employees sprayed a cleaning product and you could smell it at our table. I'm not sure where he/she was when they did it but it was horrendous smelling and off putting! Buffet was over $10/person for lunch. We will not go back again. The only pleasant thing about ming Garden was the Koi fish pond indoors, which is lovely!"

"Worth the stop if you are passing through on I-64. The restaurant is spacious and clean. We stopped by at 3:00 and were expecting a few dried out entrees given the time. Wow! The food was hot and fresh. The butterfly shrimp, coconut shrimp and stuffed crab shells will not disappoint. We will visit again when we come through Waynesboro, VA."
