Southside Corner Treasure and Thrift

"Used to be an okay thrift store when it was operated for the hospital. I am not sure who operates it now because there is no signage. Just visited yesterday for the first time in a long time and found a lot of junk - dirty and/or broken items, items that were really just trash, yarn with animal fur all over it, etc. Pretty disgusting. Despite there being a lot of staff, no on greeted me or said anything to me during my visit. Prices are absolutely insane and in a few cases DOUBLE retail prices! Worst yet, as I was leaving (empty-handed, of course), a customer was asking which charity was being chosen this month. The staffer behind the counter could not answer. So where exactly is the money going?"

"So I have been a regular customer of this thrift store for years. Having only being a resident of Culpeper for the past five years, it has been my go to place for used items. I have purchased at very reasonable prices: work clothes, dresses & shoes for church, utensils for my son who has his own catering business, household items, and tons of kids items for 3 of my 7 grandchildren just to name a few.... Recently, Miss Monica and Mrs. Victoria currently new owners (former employees of Thrift Store previously) have reopened this store giving it a total make over. It appears to be more organized, and has a clean and more open view plan. l love that the employees are friendly, kind and professional. Miss Monica is personable and cares very much about your shopping experience. She will go out of her way to assist with anything that makes your visit a welcoming one. Please do go and pay Southside Corner Thrift and Treasures a visit."

"Great selection of books & clothes...some clothing items are unreasonably priced considering this is a "thrift" store. Candles are ridiculously over-priced for being used, old &/or damaged...the holders are priced lower than the actual candles! Overall, for the type of business, all items are donated to this business which is a 100% profit yet, they price gouge the items donated. 100% profit, no employee wages as they hire volunteers only. No one but the greedy owner or management is profiting from their gifts of donation or the long hours spent cleaning, organizing, customer service, etc. by the older generation, it really does leave a bad taste in your mouth...Greed will always bite you in the @$# in the end."

"Being a frequent thrift store shopper this is the best store. Prices are very reasonable for recycled products. Used items are still in decent condition like the clothes. I can use them for work or sewing projects, or find me a winter sweater. They have enough variety of modern things here."
