"Good Peruvian Chicken, ceviche, and one of my favorites Jaleo Mariscos which is fried mixed seafood of calamari, shrimp, fish. An absolute must try!!!"
"Small Peruvian place with typical Peruvian dishes. We had pollo saltado, jalea and chaufa. All were good."
"I was searching for a restaurant that serves flan to surprise my husband on our 10th wedding anniversary. My intent was to pick up 1 or 2 servings of flan. That's it. I walked into Don Pollo and just before traditional lunch hour on a weekday and it was very busy. In a good way! Full of hungry, working men. Just what you want to see at this type of establishment that serves traditional Peruvian dishes. The aromas grabbed me! Yummy! I ended up ordering 3 complete meals, two orders of flan and a bread pudding. Our small household enjoyed the best anniversary dinner ever. Each dish was a treat! So happy I stumbled upon Don Pollo!"
"The Food is very fresh and enjoyable the chicken is very crispy and juice I like the veggies and yucca..the cashier, Jonathan was very polite and professional. This place have happy hour on chicken meals, from Monday to Thursday half off $ from 3 to 5 pm I think this is great deal they also have family specials."
"Short story - get the chaufa to go. Long story - We've eaten here twice. First time, we had the lomo saltado, chicken chaufa, and tres leches. The lomo saltado was salty and okay (not bad but not delicious). The chicken chaufa was great! The tres leches was like thick angel food cake soaked in condensed milk. It did not taste like proper warm, moist tres leches - no layers, no creaminess. Second time, we got the 1/2 chicken with 2 sides (rice with black beans and mac and cheese), chicken chaufa, and bread pudding. The chicken was mostly moist, very flavorful. Some parts were dry but that is expected. The rice / beans were okay. Rice was just white rice and the beans had all the flavor. The mac and cheese was bad - like Kraft. The chaufa was great again! The bread pudding was still frozen and the sauce was not caramel but some white sugar frosting poured over. It was cold and we could barely get at it with a steel fork (see image). Lastly, like one of the other reviewers said, the service is poor. Two examples - (1) I paid for my take out and no one gave me my food that was over the counter on a prep table. I had to reach over and take it. (2) We didn't get sauces for our chaufa either time (had to ask and pay the first time; forgot to ask and was sad the second time) nor did the lady say thanks (which, for me, is a minimum in customer service). Main food - 0.5 star Service - 0 star Desserts / sides / drinks - 0 stars Location / parking - 1 star Ambiance / music / cleanliness - 0.5"
