Reviews of Pho Towda
"Wonderful Pho experience. Very fresh and extreme HOT soup. I made a mistake where i put my beef in too soon (should've wait a bit) My favorite is the pho noodle (authentic). You hardly find this kind of pho noodle on other places. The authenic noodle is big and flat and the instant one is the small skinny one where they use it most place. The price is worth it. Definitely coming back!"
"We had dinner, dumplings, pork signature roll (summer roll and egg roll combined), pho, stone bowl pho, banh mi. Everyone enjoyed their food, good portions, great flavors. We went not too late on a Sunday and they were out of most pho protein choices other than steak, that was a disappointment but everyone ended up with something they enjoyed. FYI, the stone bowl comes out very hot, and keeps the broth very hot, too hot for our diners to enjoy until it has cooled for almost 10 minutes; that's great for some but maybe not ideal for people with heat sensitivity. Service was friendly and pretty prompt. Individual entrees came out a bit spaced out, the last two came out several minutes after the rest. Great, very fresh bread with the thin crisp crust you hope for with banh mi. The shrimp-chive dumplings are heavy on the chive, good flavor of you like chive, but next time we'll just get the pork which we really liked. We'll definitely be back!"
"Had to try this place after hearing about the concept of a “stone bowl pho”! Came here recently for Saturday lunch—restaurant is fairly small but there were available tables, so no wait. STONE BOWL SIGNATURE PHO (Phở Thố Đá)—that’s what they are known for right, so had to try! The broth is served in a stone bowl and is still bubbling hot when it reaches you—a large plate of rare beef steak (tái) with noodles and veggies are served along with the bowl. The best part is that you can add everything at your own pace—the noodles don’t get soggy and the meat doesn’t overcook either, like in regular pho bowls, but beware the broth is piping hot for a while! The broth was flavorful but not enough, we still had to add in hoisin sauce and sriracha. Overall, the Stone Bowl Signature Bowl was good but the portion was unusually large for just one person and it’s a bit expensive—$22.95. I wasn’t able to finish all of it—they should offer a smaller portion so food doesn’t get wasted, and charge less. They have some other food items on the menu as well—tried the Summer Roll (gỏi cuốn), it was okay! Decent selection of drinks and some desserts, including chè (Vietnamese sweet dessert) that I didn’t see initially on the menu."
"I'm not Vietnamese but I'm quite picky when it comes to which place I get my Pho. The best one I've ever come across is Pho 75 in Rosslyn and I usually drive an hour to go there some times. I'm so glad I found Pho Towda nearby because I don't have to drive that far now. The taste of the broth is very similar. The meat is super fresh. The staff works quick and efficient. As soon as I entered the restaurant and saw all the seat full of Asians, I knew it was going to be good and IT WAS. The decor is also pretty fresh and modern unlike traditional Pho restaurants which could be a little run down. I also like their new inventions like the crispy spring roll inside the summer roll. It was quite good. The bah mi with purple bread I took home was also amazing! This place is doing Pho and Bah Mi right! I'd be coming back for more Pho and Bah Mi to go!"
"I recently dined at Pho Towda in Fairfax, and I had a delightful experience. The restaurant boasts a clean and modern decor that creates a pleasant ambiance. The staff provided exceptional, friendly service, making me feel right at home. I tried the grilled pork rolls, and they were delicious, offering a perfect blend of flavors and textures. The star of the show, their signature Pho Tho Da, was also quite enjoyable. However, there is some room for improvement in this dish. While it was good, I believe a few tweaks could elevate it to perfection. Overall, Pho Towda is a fantastic dining option in Fairfax with a welcoming atmosphere, excellent service, and tasty Vietnamese cuisine. I look forward to returning and trying more of their offerings in the future."
