Cooter's Place - Luray

""I never knew this place existed. I drove past it on a trip to a ski slope, but I made sure to stop by on my way back. The place brought back so many nostalgic memories. Although it's small, it's definitely worth a visit if you grew up watching "The Dukes of Hazzard". There are three sections to the place: a gift shop where you can find a lot of memorabilia, a museum with vehicles that are in excellent condition, and an ice cream shop."

"Museum is a lot smaller than I thought it would be , but it's FREE. Can't beat the price ! They have live music on the weekends including Gospel Bluegrass. The staff is friendly and helpful..Video and photos are allowed and encouraged. The merchandise is a little expensive but it has a great selection for nostalgia. Even if you're not a big fan of the TV show you may enjoy it because it's so neat!"

"We came across this treasure by accident and right on time for a music session with Cooter himself and his band. How delightful. Took me back to the Dukes of Hazzard tv show. We loved it. Very close to the Luray Caverns. Please plan to go to Cooters. You will be glad you did!"

"Wow! GREAT Stop! I made a reel on Instagram, TRD183 a must see! Very clean, All The Cars & Trucks and great museum of collectibles to transport back in time. Big place! Park for kids to play! Next to the caverns, easy stop and go. The shop needs to offer some Old school shirts like the 80's ! They have some cool ones In museum I wish was for sale. Got post cards to mail to grandparents."

"We went to this museum today. There were lots of cool things to look at. There is also a gift shop here. The folks here were really nice. So far, one of my favorite places we visited during our trip. I was surprised they didn’t charge us to enter, but we did end up purchasing some really cool souvenirs."
