Reviews of The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center
"Its okay they put clothes out by color not by size so u gotta sort through the colors items 2 find ur size.very organized though. Would rate it a 3.5"
"I went in this store very excited because I love a good thrift store buy .. however I walked through the store very excited Once I got the register there was an issue for the price once the lady came to fix it she noticed my mask was alittle below my nose and yelled I need TO Put MY Mask on I immediately check my face thinking I didn’t have one On because she basically yelled it at me the whole store looked I then told her my mask is on but if she like me to pull it an inch over my nose she could’ve said it & not yelled it I guess that offended her & she began to say a bunch of stuff but I told her I wasn’t about to cause a scene and would not be arguing with her she told the girl at the register to not Continue ringI got up my order until the mask was over my nose ... you need a new manger or supervisor because that whole scene she caused was unacceptable"
"This Salvation Army thrift store has a lot to offer. There are clothes, dishes, books, house decor items and much more. The store is organized, especially the clothing. The prices are fair. They offer sales on a frequent basis. The employees are helpful and kind. Be aware that the parking lot can be tight."
"To whom this may concern, I have been shopping at the Salvation Army on 6432 Rising Sun Ave. for over 15 years. I am a retiree and I go to the store daily which is very therapeutic to me. I have never had any complaints or problems regarding the employees of the store until today. After speaking to the manager who treated me with blatant disrespect, I was banned from the store for unacceptable reasons. I had a question regarding the color of the day, which was pink. So, I approach a young man who responded in a rude manner saying, "Read the sign". I felt offended by this statement being as though I am an educated woman who can clearly understand that all items tagged pink are 50 percent off. However, I wanted to know if the deal had any items that were excluded due to the previous circumstances of the deals in the past. Without acknowledging my presence, the manager walked up to the young man and started speaking Spanish. I found this very rude being as though I am not Hispanic, and I do not understand, nor do I speak Spanish. When the manager addressed me, she did not say “hello” or “how are you?” instead, she yelled "put your mask on your face." because it had fallen as I was speaking to the young man. Preventing the situation from escalating, I pulled my mask up, walked away, and started shopping. Then I turned around and asked to speak with the manager again. when the manager came from the back, she ran toward me aggressively and I felt very threatened. I told her that I did not appreciate her approaching me with the amount of aggression she performed. Instead of apologizing, the manager began to yell and holler at me as I was trying to help her understand what I was asking in the first place. I became upset and explained to her that she was being very disrespectful and that a manager is a person who is supposed to listen their customers and treat them with respect. From that point on she told me to "get out the store because no one is going to ring you up" and walked away. Then she turned around again and said, "matter of fact You can't come in this store anymore." In response to the chaos she created, I told her I was going to call corporate and without any hesitation she told me to “go ahead.” I felt intimidated by this because she gave me the impression that corporate was not effective in handling the situation. from what I experienced from your store today, I felt the need to express myself and let you know what is going on because this is not the first time where the customers were treated poorly. Since I go to the store frequently, I was able to witness the same manager behave rudely to her staff and customers repeatedly. However, it was not until today where I was able to experience this behavior for myself and I am extremely disappointed."
"Very nice place very organized and neat and clean, you can find very nice items very quickly. The only draw back is the price is a little high for the economy of the community, it's used and donated items it's not like they're manufacturing it themselves. Some items are higher than the retail stores they have the tendency to switch sale tags colors the day before their discount Wednesday's that's sad, but other that you can get some great deals for the buck just be patient when hunting."
