"owner should be more aware about what she puts on her shelves, i ran into a book in there that was called “black alice.” which is basically about a white women who turns black and is not happy about it, book was made around the jim crow era, lots of derogatory pictures & slurs were used in the book to describe black women and NOT for educational purposes at all. i had showed her the book and asked why she was selling this very obvious racist book, (on the front of the book, there was a little black girl with big red lips and was sitting on top of a piece of watermelon for crying out loud..) and she didn’t even read the book before putting it on shelves.. this made my vintage shopping experience as a black women very uncomfortable."
