Morristown Medical Center

"Emergency Room Let's just say it's a disgrace. I was in the waiting area vomiting for close to 7 hours. Than get called in and after a few hours got put in the hallway. I was vomiting non stop. I was going to be admitted but still to put someone vomiting in a hallway was disgraceful. As far as being admitted I ended up in the Rapid Treatment Unit with a private room. I guess the hospital was full but over 24 hours waiting on the ER in a hallway was not a great experience. If it weren't for my Gastro doctors going through Morristown I would have not gone there."

"So, not 100% sure I am reviewing in the correct location. Our entrance we were told to go in was Gagnon, the was taken down to the Surgery location In the cancer center. The Dr. who performed both surgeries on my wife was amazing. He did great work and was able to completely remove all her tumors and cancer. The surgery waiting area is not my favorite location. The color and number on a TV screen felt more like a Deli counter. I am sure it has its benefits for the hospital and covers confidentiality issues as well, its just very difficult to sit in that room for 6-8 hours as the screens fill with more and more numbers. There was limited locations to charge my phone, I will note there was a wheeled phone charger in the area but it did not work. There really isn't food options either, I was told about a café that was supposed to be open above the surgical floor but was closed for the duration of the day. Ultimately I found a cafeteria in the Gagnon portion of the hospital that I could buy food. Not sure I was supposed to be in there, but too late now...lol. The staff at the surgical location tries hard to be friendly and nice however can not give you any updates. I was told I would get a call during surgery to give me details. That never happened. I sat staring at a TV screen for nearly 8 hours with no updates other then color changes next to my wife's number. Finally once she was done with recovery and was transferred to the main hospital for her week stay I was given the wrong facility three different times. I walked between two different locations and then back to the surgical center before I finally was given the correct location of my wife. I then had to wait another hour before they would let me see her. The stay there she said was good, the nurse rotation was good. She says they were attentive to her and worked with her. As an outsider to the I can't rate. I know they definitely treated her a thousand times better than they did me. Be prepared for lackluster communication, spending big money on any food or drink you may need while there. I hope you never have to go to any of these facilities to have cancer removed, but if you do need to go somewhere they did really well for my wife."

"Fabulous nursing and staff care. Very attentive, professional people who truly give the best care. My husband was in a life threatening situation and they treated every aspect of treatment as if they were caring for a dear family member. The high ratings they have received are well deserved."

"We recently had our second baby delivered here and just like it was with our first baby our experience was truly amazing. All of the staff in every department from dietary to environmental services was kind and helpful. Shout out to L&D/mother baby unit for being such an incredible place. Every single staff member was wonderful and made our experience truly memorable. The Nurses and Techs were all so kind and caring. We feel so blessed for having such a great hospital here in NJ. "My elderly father has been here few times. For us the service and hospital been great. The nurses are top quality and caring nurses. They are very busy and understaffed but it doesn’t affect the quality of their nursing. Doctors are great."
