Reviews of Spa Light
"Awesome experience. I tried the day pass which is $85 in the winter. They give you a bracelet with a locker key attached upon arrival. They separate the men’s and women’s wet amenities as they are clothing optional. They supply you with towels, water, and a thin robe. The wet amenities include two hot jacuzzis, a cold plunge, a steam room, and fully stocked showers. Your circuit it on your own. They also offer Korean body scrubs in this room. The coed space, bathing suit or robe required, has so much to offer! I could have spent hours there! A beautiful ice cold igloo, a hot jade sauna, a Finnish sauna, and a Himalayan salt suite! They also had 8 oakworks heated spa loungers…heaven! You can order Korean inspired food including teas, boba, dumplings, pho, and noodles. The locker room is fully stocked with hair dryers, body lotion, and clear bags to bring home your wet swimsuit. They seemed to have thought of everything. 100% worth the price you pay. Very relaxing and clean."
"Update: I returned a week after my first trip to a terrible experience. There were two ladies (perhaps friends, perhaps unrelated) who were both video recording themselves on their phones while in the nude bath area. Many of the other spa goers were giving them a wide berth. We reported to the staff, who then notified a female staff member but nothing substantial was done. The female staff member walked into the bath area and walked a lap but said and did nothing. Two other patrons were checking out at the desk when I reported and agreed loudly that they also saw the videorecording ladies and wanted them to stop. I will not be returning. Initial review: I quite enjoyed the spa here. It is small compared to other Korean spas (such as the ones in New Jersey, Dallas and Chicago). There are three warm/hot regions and one cold one. It is quite clean. There are many signs advising not to use phones in the facilities, but one other patron was face-timing in the changing room makeup area, which was uncomfortable."
"After having experienced onsens in Japan, I was excited to try this Korean spa that is probably the closest to Boston. My friends and I visited on a Monday morning and it wasn't very busy when we first arrived. If you need a larger than average robe, you need to ask for it because they just give everyone the same size and don't ask for your size. Also, if you want the spa uniform (a thick cotton top and bottom), you have to ask for them. Personally, I felt more comfortable wearing the spa uniform in the co-ed area than just a robe. I'm glad I read some previous reviews and knew to bring my own sandals because we had to take our shoes off and the spa did not provide any sandals to wear. It's fine to be barefoot in the spa and sauna areas, but I would feel weird not wearing anything in the bathroom and dining areas! I liked that we were given keys on a wristband that were to be used for our lockers and also how we paid for food so that we didn't have to carry around any money. The locker room area was quite small, though, and could have benefitted with additional benches. As someone else mentioned, some body lotion would be a nice addition since the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided in the shower area. In the women's bathhouse area, the "vitality" pool had a sign that said it was closed for cleaning, but we did not see anyone actually cleaning it. The hot tub and cold plunge pool were nice and non-chlorinated, and I liked alternating between them and the steam room. While we were in the steam room, someone was exfoliating in there which seemed pretty unhygienic. Also, my friends told me they saw someone shooting a video of entering the steam room which really shouldn't be allowed because it's a clothing option area! In order to get to the co-ed dry sauna area, you had to walk past the dining area and relaxation area. I'm not really sure what the purpose of the lukewarm salt sauna and slightly warmer jade sauna were, but the dry sauna was truly nice and hot. Our favorite part of the whole spa were the heated relaxation chairs since they were so soft and comfortable. The food wasn't bad but on the more expensive side (4 crab rangoons were $10!). I wish they had some coffee options but there were none available. I didn't book any treatments since they all seemed a bit expensive (and don't include access to the spa) but my friends who got the moisturizing facials both liked them, and I can attest that their skin was glowing afterwards."
"I truly enjoyed my experience. Was hesitant to drive from Boston as reviews were very diverse but glad I did. Went on Saturday night right after Thanksgiving and it was not busy (which I was excited about!), got a body scrub in addition to access to facilities, ginger tea (highly recommend!) and seafood Udon and ended up spending 5 hours there. All facilities looked clean and overall I appreciated atmosphere of tasteful serenity. One ask to the management though: the only thing I was missing was a body lotion in locker rooms, my post scrub body needed lots of moisturizing :)"
