"I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD…. I WAITED IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR 2 hours with 2 people ahead of me…. Waited in the doc room another 20, saw me for 2 min and moved me to the procedure room where I waited another 20… the front desk girl gave me a thumbs up when I said I’m leaving because I haven’t had any treatment in 3 hours NEVER EVER GO HERE! THIS PLACE IS AN EMBARRASSMENT"
"Terrible experience. After waiting for an hour, I was taken in for vitals by the nurse. She was lovely and asked about my symptoms. I had terrible sinus pressure, pain and discomfort in my ears, and an obvious eye infection which she noted. I was given a rapid Covid test to rule it out. I was taken to another room to wait for the doctor who came in after a few minutes. He spent less than one minute with me. Listening to my chest without even having me remove the heavy winter jacket I was wearing so not sure how effective that was. He asked a couple questions, confirmed the Covid test was negative, and said “it’s a sinus infection, we’ll call a script in.” I asked, “what about my eye?”, at which point he finally glanced at my face and said, “oh yeah we can throw something in for that too, have a nice day”. Had I not called his attention to it; it would have been complete missed. He didn’t look at my ears and simply walked out and went back to the desk, sending me on my way. I will never return to this urgent care again. Terrible patient care by the doctor. The rest of the staff was good."
"I appreciate the care I was given. The nurse and PA were attentive, caring and efficient. However, the wait time was excessive and by the time I left the waiting room was completely full. No chairs available and people standing."
"I've been here several times for myself or family members. Sign-in is always very easy, either ahead of time or while at the desk. The staff are all very pleasant and friendly. I've never had a super long wait time (fortunate I guess). I would certainly recommend Optum for an easy quick visit for medical attention."
"This urgent care gets such a bad wrap. I have been here countless of times and on close to every occasion I have seen the patients & not the staff being nasty. A question I have for the plenty comments is if someone walked in 10-20 minutes before you closed your place of employment what would be your reaction? Because I would me furious. I have gotten to know most of the Rockaway Optum staff; due to a bad immune system and on top of being understaffed they are working 12 hour shifts when you see them. To those who are writing these aggressive and hostile reviews you are just spewing your anger & negative energy to the internet.. if there is any truth to what you all are even saying. Let me remind you all that 2020 was only 3 years ago and we were praising our healthcare workers for all of there hard work and time spent helping others. What’s changed? Are people still not getting sick? Isn’t that why there are so many reviews in the first place? As a son to a doctor and a soon to be healthcare worker; working in the medical field myself I see first hand how disrespectful everyone has become. I understand that all of our patience from these tough times have been drawn awfully thin, but what I have been seeing and experiencing is just a clear picture to what our future society is slowly becoming. Anger and bitterness. I am writing this to ask for kindness and patience with our healthcare workers and with everyone in life. Happy holidays and let’s all learn to be better human. MMA"
