"This review is reflective of the office staff and office work flow only, NOT the physician who I see at this practice. I am not sure if there have been new staff hired in the last year, but I do not recall having such a disappointing experience in the past. It has been approximately 1 year since I last scheduled an appointment in the office. I called several weeks ago to schedule an appointment for a physical. The receptionist who I spoke with was abrupt and interruptive. After scheduling my appointment, she ended the call by saying "Ok" and hanging up the phone. I had my doctor's visit and was given a prescription for blood work, which I had drawn at a lab nearby immediately after. I did not receive results for several days, and even checked online to see the results, but one of the tests was not even showing up as pending. I called the office to inquire and was blindly assured that the results were not received yet and I would be notified when the office received them. When I brought up my concerns as to whether the test was even performed, I was dismissed and told that they were in process but not received. I called the lab after I spoke with office, who told me that one of the tests was not on their copy of the lab requisition and was therefore not performed as I suspected. I called the office back to notify them and they offered to schedule me to come in to the office to have the blood work taken. I scheduled an appointment for 8:45, and checked in at 8:35. I sat until about 9:05 as I watched about 6 or 7 patients in front of me go back to receive flu shots; they came and went within minutes of each other. I asked the receptionist if I was, in fact, checked in, as several patients that came in after me were taken back for their appointment. I was told that the other patients were there to see the doctor and that someone would call me back shortly. I continued to sit until 9:20, but had a scheduled surgery at 11:30 on the same day that was an hour away. I left the office without having my blood work performed. I will not be returning to Springfield Medical Associated due to the unprofessional and incompetent staff who are responsible for communicating with the patients, which is unfortunate because I really like the physician that I see there. I recommend evaluating your processes to ensure that the patients you continue to serve do not experience the same frustration. The health care system is difficult enough to navigate as it is."
