"We made reservations for our group and they required a deposit of $10 person to make a reservation. If I hadn't been handling for others that would have been the end of it and I would not have visited nor eaten to comment on the food. We did visit. I ordered a burger well done and received a burger that was medium rare/red middle. I cut the burger in half which is how I realized it was undercooked. Waitress took it back. About 15 minutes later she returned with my burger - the same burger that I had cut in half! It was more done but still not well done. I'm still queasy about the fact that they take food that has been served and return it to their grill. Fries were limp. Won't be returning."

"The restaurant is clean and tables spaced so not on top of each other. There is bar side and restaurant side seating. The bar is large with plenty of seating and TV's positioned around. Nice comfortable atmosphere with are menu and drink options. The hamburgers are excellent good size and don't cheap out on options. Good fries fresh cut. Menu has something for everyone. The speciality drinks are excellent and so is their spiced rum. Creative and tasty options plenty. Their bourbon is good not great. Our waiter was excellent checked on us and gave updates on food and drinks orders. Will go again."

"Had a lovely night here before catching a show at the theatre just down the road. We had a large party and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The angry pig sandwich was simply sublime, perfectly layered meats with so much flavor. The beer was also very good, seems like there is plenty of reason to come back just to try different seasonal drinks! Well done to the team here!"

"I have been to this establishment a few different times and the food and drinks are always top notch. They have a large drink menu and the food menu has many different options. The establishment has a lot of tables, this time we made a reservation since we had a larger group. The server did great and was very attentive. Check this place out if you live near Akron-Valley."

"Merchant Tavern and Towpath Distillery made a great casual lunch stop after touring Stan Hywet Hall & gardens. Large, comfortable covered patio out front. Good selection of beers, wines & cocktails - also offering cocktails featuring their own bourbon, rum, vodka and gin. The shrimp, lobster and salmon hushpuppies were a tasty surprise - burger was good and the salmon BLT was awesome! I'll be glad to stop back when I'm in the area."
