"Love their mission. They help individuals all around PA who are in need of services. I love that I get to do what I love and meet so many people through their events and social activities!"
"YES there's always room for improvement in everything, including in each one of us human beings, but here at Kaleidoscope I've found a family. I can say for the first time in my life that I love my job and it happens to be because of all the wonderful hard working individuals at Kaleidoscope. Is a relaxed environment and that gives the employee the desire to do above and beyond. Is a great place to work."
"I applied with Kaleidoscope Family Solutions and was asked to come in for an interview with one person. When I arrived I was told my interview was with someone else. This is called a bait & switch. I was offered the contract position immediately after my interview. Before the interview process I paid over $40.00 in fees to acquire background checks, etc for them. I accepted the offer for contract work with the understanding that there was required training the next week. The following week I attended the mandatory training that did not provide me with the appropriate training on how to work with a special needs adult. The trainer rushed through the training and did not play any of the training videos. The first red flag was when I asked about billing for the time spent on the large amount of paperwork, goal setting & research for the client and was told that I cannot bill & will not be getting paid for any admin work. Upon the completion of the training as the group was leaving the trainer informed us that we did not get paid for the 4 hours that we sat there and would not be getting paid for 24 hours of required training. I have since sent several invoices to the company without any reply or acknowledgement of the outstanding invoice. Do not apply to this company. They are not ethical in their business practices and are taking advantage of their contractors and putting their clients with disabilities in danger by not appropriately training their contractors."
"My daughter was offered a job here and was cautious due to what she had heard from other TSS workers. The feedback she received was that the director was extremely passive-aggressive with employees and the turn-over rate was so high that even if you created a supportive community, it would always be changing and you never knew if you were going to be fired. She really wanted to work with individuals who had autism and tried it for a while at this office, but there were always problems with her paychecks, her schedule would be changed at the last minute (while driving on her way to a client's house), and she was often asked to do tasks and jobs for the director and other employees without pay. The director called her cell phone on a religious holiday in the middle of dinner, demanding that she go to a client's house who was not in her caseload and that was the final straw for us. I was shocked! To be helpful, we gifted her one of our older vehicles to use, but there were too many drawbacks and our entire family encouraged her to look elsewhere. No benefits and very low pay; no respect, support, or validation either."
