"I started seeing Cathy when I developed severe anxiety after being diagnosed with breast cancer. I contacted a few therapists but was having trouble fitting them into my schedule of endless doctors appointments and a full time job. Then I called Cathy. The first thing she said was “tell me your schedule so we can find something that is easy for you to fit in”. Immediately I knew that I found a therapist who really, truly cared about her patients and their well being! Cathy is very knowledgeable in the world of cancer, the human body, and also nutrition. All of this has been very helpful as I have worked to regain my physical and mental health since my diagnosis. In addition to helping me talk through and process my thoughts, she always has suggestions for exercises or food that could help a physical ailment. She also always remembers when I have scans and check in with me. Over the years she has proven to be the caring, considerate person that I talked to on that first phone call. I started feeling improvements after my first appointment with Cathy, and thanks to her guidance over the last few years, I now have my anxiety under control. She has also helped me maneuver several other major life events, in addition to helping me figure out how to rebuild a new and happy life. I honestly do not know how I would have survived the last 5 years without her. But here I am, happier than ever before. I can not recommend Cathy enough!!!"
"As someone who has suffered from depression most of her life, I knew it was important to find someone that who was knowledgable about the physical and mental rollercoaster I was about to embark on as I tried to wrap my head around my new cancer diagnosis. Cathy was recommended to me by a social worker through Asplundh Cancer Pavilion. The first day I met Cathy, I knew she different from other therapists. She genuinely cares about her patients; constantly checking in and making sure her patients feel safe, and comfortable. Cathy gave me the validation I needed, and wasn't getting from my friends and family. I opened up to Cathy in ways I have never been able to open up to anyone before. Even when she was on vacation in Scotland, she called me to check in, because she was genuinely worried about me when I was struggling with my double mastectomy. Over these past nine months, Cathy has helped me become a better communicator, helped me deal with my anxiety, cope with my depression, and become a physically and mentally healthier and happier person. She has so much knowledge to bestow onto her clients that exceed far beyond basic cancer and health facts. If you are looking for someone who will go above and beyond for you and for someone who truly cares about your problems and your needs, look no further. I would recommend Cathy to anyone in a heartbeat!"
"Cathy has been my saving grace in navigating through cancer treatment to survivorship, helping in all areas from diet and exercise to managing emotions, especially grief and anger. Her deep understanding of the 'cancer journey' is priceless in the healing process!"
