"I myself attended JHS. At that time I would have never questioned sending my child to the school. There were some great teachers who excelled at making an impact in students lives. When my son started his first year at the school all I heard about was the on going fights and threats made on a daily basis. He had videos sent to him each day and threats made. The principal and school continuously ignored the threats. They continuously covered up the fights. When it was most important they ignored them. The JPD did the same. It was not just my kid. A large group of students were having issues. They were constantly harassed and threatened. This is more than just bullying. The students making the threats always took action on them. After my son was jumped and given a severe concusion still nothing was done. When it came to his education the principal did not believe the concusion to be as severe as it was. He ignored the first months of doctors notes. The school did absolutely nothing to accomadate a child who was medically diagnosed and medically unable to use electronics. There was no tutoring offered, no assignments were printed out, and when he attempted class he was forced out. My son consistently was yelled at or thrown out of class for not using a computer and doing his work. This happened for months The doctor requested his grades be dropped on past assignments. Tests be made shorter. Work be printed out. Breaks when needed for the stress on his brain. A tutor. 504 plan. And once again absolutely no elecronics, band or gym. The doctor even called the school to vocalize the importance of his list. After 5 months they decided too implement an IEP. But because he could not focus, do his work or cope with the constant stress level at the school. He was labeled as " the bad student". I then decided home school was the best choice. I pulled my son out of school. Still today he is receiving threats on personal media via group chat with one of his friends. Any way possible the " troubled students" make an effort. After warning the principal that a " student" was going to jump several students in the school they dismissed it. Today it happened. My son woke be up all upset because his friend did get jumped. My son called his friend at school trying to warn him. My son told him to go to the nurse. The friend did he tried and was scolded on the way there by a teacher. The friend was told he could not go to the nurse and was sent back to the cafeteria. There he got jumped by the "student". There is a video that shows no one making any attempt to help this child . Only adults in the background saying "get off of him". The friend is now in the hospital. I understand that in today's society you can not touch another person without the chance of getting sued. But maybe if these situations were taking seriously like the supposed "gun threat" that was in the paper parents would not have to get a phone call. "Theres been an incident." If the school did not cover up so many maybe there would be a safe place for a child to go, like the nurses office. Maybe then the school would be recommended for being a good high school to attend. I myself would have remained quiet. Except when this affects my child, who no longer attends this school, it is my problem. And when 11 months go by with nothing being done. More people need to voice their child's situations. This is not the first and won't be the last. There have been weeks where there were over five "fights". Let me explain fights. When two or more people willingly agree to " fight". Like when we and are parents were in school. These are not them. These students are being jumped. Most of them start with the other student having no idea. Getting sucker punched right in the temple. They have no ability at that time to defend or "fight" back. Everyone wants a safe and educational school. My experience is the education is lacking and the school is not safe. I hope this is read and more people voice."
"Didn't prepare me well enough for college."

"I moved to RI from another state and enrolled my children in school here and because of where I lived at the school system decided they didn't want my kids to goto school there and displaced me from where I was living by threatening the people who owned the establishment I was staying at with a $36,000 fine. Damn shame y'all can dictate what children get an education and what children don't. I was actually living at the address I used I wasn't pretending to stay there and they still put me out. It's all good I'll figure my situation out but y'all remember God does not like ugly. And shame on you for treating children like that."
