Reviews
"Shrimp tacos were awful over cooked and served with lettuce only. No cilantro, onion or any other fixings. Beef tacos were stuffed with meat and no fixings. Chips and salsa were great. Margarita's were terrific"
"While visiting a friend in the area we stopped here to grab a late dinner. We had about 2 hours before they closed to get in and grab some food. The wait was pretty long, about 25 minutes, for 3 people. Once seated things weren't very smooth sailing at all. Our server was very apologetic and sweet, but the kitchen took forever and I think she was razzled and forgot to put in some of our order. The atmosphere was nice, cozy and a bit dark. Just how I like it. The cocktails were just ok and the food was ok. I had the veggie tacos. Nothing I'd rave about. Overall a decent spot but may be better when it's less crowded."
"Went to dinner with 2 other couples. The outside is deceiving for the restaurant inside is a good size. The staff was very attentive and our six drinks came to our table in a reasonable amount of time. I had the Ribeye Fajitas. The food was sizzling hot and the ribeye was perfectly cooked medium to my request. The portions were very generous so most of our group brought home leftovers in containers. We all had a very good dinner and no complaints. I would recommend this place to get quality Mexican food at reasonable prices."
"Overall my first time here was ok but didn't inspire me to go back. The ambiance was nice and although they were busy I didn't feel crowded. Every staff member I interacted with was courteous. The most disappointing part of the night was the food. I skipped the chips and salsa and ordered the Maya's Enchiladas. The plate given to me had no red sauce, all cheese was unmelted/tepid, and the poorly cooked steak was strewn on top of everything. Hate doing this but had to send back...second attempt had melted cheese but still not better than what I could throw in the oven from Trader Joe's. I'll give this place another try because other dishes I saw coming out looked ok....just had higher expectations for first impressions."
"Giving this 2 stars and happy to revise in future of things get better, because I'm really holding out and want to give this place a chance. We were so excited to have a Mexican place in this neighborhood, but oh my, the food so far is...not good. Pictured here is the Mole Chicken-- sauce was super thin and not recognizable as any mole we've ever had. Just chicken breast in a thin sauce. The rest of what we ordered (including enchiladas--oddly stuffed with unmeltable chunks of cotija cheese) were also lacking the kind of basic lime/tomato/cilantro freshness of Mexican food. Such a bummer, but let's hope they're getting their bearings. We got takeout so we still have hope for some great margs in-house, if we decide to try again."
