"We went to VK with friends we have not seen. Server was great. Beer was really good. Taco Pizza, Margherita pizza and spinach artichoke dip did not resemble or taste like their description. Pulled pork nacho was nice though. We have other friends waiting on our opinion. We will not be taking them here."
"We headed to VK brewery for their 1st anniversary party. The bar area was full, but we found a spot in the corner. A band was playing in one of the side rooms. A great tap list for the evening really helped. The pumpkin beer was very good. Then we followed the beers with a buffalo chicken pizza. Everything was great and I can't wait to come back."
"This is definitely going to be our place to go and our place to bring friends! Also I'd recommend skipping out on the soft pretzel appetizer, the cheese and mustard are good but that doesn't make up for the dryness. Everytime we come here we have a blast. The last time not as much at the rest but still fun. Original post: My husband and I had a fantastic time going to VK Brewery for the first time. We went for happy hour on a Saturday day at the bar and was there for about 3 hours. The bartenders Tom, Brian, and Alex were amazing and they were a ton of fun. I noticed some drinks were similar to Amani's in Downingtown only to find out that their mastermind that made their cocktails now works for VK! Good for VK, bad for Amani's. The restaurant is very open and airy but also has a very social feel to it. We felt comfortable talking with other people at the bar and watched the Sixers sweep the Nets. I got to meet the owner for a quick second when he popped in real quick, he seemed like a really good guy and great to work for. They have other fun things to offer as well like quizzo nights, taco Tuesdays, and even cocktail classes."
"My husband and I dined here for the first time tonight. This is in the old ship inn building that I hadn’t been to in years. It’s very nicely refinished inside. On a busy Friday night we were seated right away. We ordered the appetizer pretzel, the hot roast beef sandwich and the blue cheese burger. The food was excellent and very hot. The prices of meals were on the higher side, but not outrageous. Our waitress was attentive but she seemed to be very busy. My only complaint is that it’s very loud in the large dining room. All the wood and stone inside magnifies the loud crowd. The customer base seems to be kid friendly with young families. Next time I may request sitting in one of the smaller rooms instead of the large dining room in the event I was looking for a more intimate experience. I would go again."
"While I was not lucky enough to come here when it was a Ship Inn, the owner did a good job keeping the tradition and history going, while adding a bit of their own taste to it. Upon entering, you feel weldome and cozy. Everything is spacious and airy, and while we were there for lunch on Thursday (read: not busy), I can't imagine it ever feeling stuffy even on he busier nights. Bartender was very knowledgeable, and recommendations were excellent. We had a cheese steak and roast beef sandwich. Each stretching from one end of a large plate to another, barely being able to finish it. Juicy, tender meats, and great choice of bread made it a true PA delicacy. They brew their own beer and I will definitely be back for more of this one! I had the summer favorite - blood orange shandy, and my friend had an IPA (reported good rating), and a lager (also very good). I'm very intrigued about the place and will definitely be back for more. [update] It happened! We came back. The Ship Inn is dead. Long live the VK Brewery! I've only been here twice, but need to come back for every meal of the day!! Excellent beer (had the pumpkin and the blonde), even better food and great atmosphere. I had the Leon chicken sammy and my wife had the mushroom soup and portabella mushroom sandwich. With delicious, flavorful meat and mushrooms, layered with a great sauce; add crispy fries and great service, and you'll never want to leave. I also loved the building and interior. The main dining room has great big windows that even in a cloudy day like when we were there, everything was lit and bright. There's a huge new residential development being built right across the road, so come down before they get so freaking busy that you won't be able to find parking."
