Reviews of Walkabout Trail Trailhead
"We camped here and didn't take advantage of the trails. I would enjoy this place for a day trip, but not camping or even a day at the beach. St aff were pleasant but very much a constant presence. Noisy trucks and 4 wheelers driving through at all hours. Drinking is prohibited entirely. No food or drinks at the beach."
"Lovely trail for our camping trip. 5/5!!!"
"great wooded hike starting in Pulaski State park on the snow-shoe trail then completed the orange trail which take you out on an eastern route put of the park where you will spend most of the walk between Pulaski and George Washington camp ground. some great features of the remains pfca home and an associated man-made pond. in to.e the orange trail does turn west and ends on the dam at the western edge of Pulaski. The trails are hilly and so.e trees are down, but none interfered with the walk. I would category this as a east hike. we will be back in the fall yo be sure!"
"I have hiked the orange trail (8 miles) and the blue trail (2 miles). On the occasion that I hiked the blue trail I had children aged 5, 10, and 12 with me. They had no difficulty with this hike. The orange trail I hiked with a second adult. I would call it moderate difficulty based almost entirely on length. We stopped halfway for lunch in a beautiful hemlock grove. The terrain varies throughout this hike but I would describe no part of this as difficult. Make sure to bring some bug spray as parts of the trail tend towards dampness and have lots of mosquitoes."
"Awesome campground!! That was beautiful and for the most part much more quiet than most campgrounds I have been to. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I love walking around the reservoir on the trails. I definitely I would recommend staying here and Hiking a couple of the trails if you get a chance just don't forget the mosquito repellent."
