Reviews of Panera Bread
"We ordered 2 toasted baguettes. One was perfectly crispy the other one was stale, hard to chew. We were shocked by such discrepancy in quality. However that indicated a more serious problem - they use STALE bread!!! Unbelievable. We also ordered a soup - which they gave you a piece of cold stale baguette. You would think they would care about your dining experience and the taste of the food they serve, so that they would actually toast that baguette for you. But no. Also the floor at this place always feels dirty and sticky. There’s ALWAYS a pile of dirty plates sitting at the collection area. To clean the table - the staff just simply wipe it with a dirty looking cloth. God know how many times it’s been used throughout the day without being actually disinfected. Disappointment. There won’t be a next time."
"It's 2023 and this place has still not figured out mobile ordering or takeout. Orders are consistently 10-15 minutes late. This is partly due to staff, but also due to the app/website giving incorrect estimates on prep time. EVERYTIME you order it states your order will be ready within 10 minutes. Day/night, busy/slow doesn't matter, it's always 10 minutes. So you order and one of two things happen. One, you show up at the directed time, it is late, and you sit and wait with the other miserable people who are waiting for their food that was supposed to already be done. Or two, you try to plan for the delay and show up 10 minutes late, which are invariably the days where everything is running on time and now you have cold soup. The problem I have laid out above has existed since the pandemic, so almost 4 years and they still haven't gotten this right. But recently it's gotten worse. Now the orders are kept behind the counter, preventing you from getting your order when it is in fact ready. You now have to wait in line with other customers looking to order, THUS DEFEATING THE PURPOSE OF ORDERING AHEAD IN THE FIRST PLACE! It's unfortunate that they need to protect these orders from thieves, but given the circumstances, you expect staff to be aware of the situation and proactively ask people if they are waiting to pick up an order, but alas that is not the case. Today while standing alone in front of the register, multiple employees passed me, multiple times without so much as eye contact. Were they busy doing other things? One woman, I watched walk past me to the pastries, look at them, walk past me again to the sandwich area, watched then being made for a minute, then left, walked past me again, to the back room, after which she quickly returned and completed the entire circuit again two more times, before another employee started walking past and I was able to get their attention and my order. I can't think of any other restaurant that is this disorganized and failing at the logistics of food service as poorly as this one particular Panera. *written from my phone, please forgive typos and misspellings."
"Awful missing 1 sandwich in a 3 sandwich order. Turkey sandwich 2 slices of turkey, chicken salad about 1 tablespoon per side. Lot s lettuce to male it look substantial. Turkey had items added that were not requested. Will not go back"
"Ladies and gentlethems I am a survivor. My first time at Panera was around 10 years ago and I remember the experience quite lukewarmly. It wasn’t the best, but it also wasn’t bad. I tell you this because I walked into this store with few expectations, neither good nor bad. Let me tell you that this has been one of the strangest fast food experiences of my life and not in a good way. I ordered a regular hot coffee and a large Mac and Cheese and what I got was thoroughly underwhelming. First of all they were out of hot coffee so I spend my time loitering around the fountain drinks filling and refilling my cup to make up for the $4 I spent on disappointment. As I waited for my Mac and Cheese to come out my stomach was already twisted in knots. I felt it turn over when the food arrived. Encrusted on the edge of my under portioned mac and cheese was something that resembled dried pea soup. Or perhaps a booger. But this was nothing compared to the war zone we witnessed when trying to find a seat. This place looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Trash and food debris were scattered everywhere. It truly was… disturbing. Perhaps I’ll give Panera another go in the next decade."
"I have mixed feelings about it lol It seems like a great place to work on a laptop. Comfortable chairs etc but you would need to be pre-charged. There aren’t many outlets. There were only a couple and they were taken. So I don’t think I’ve ever been to like a real Panera before? I went to one before but it wasn’t set up like this? You order a drink and they just give you a cup and you do it yourself. Lol. The black iced coffee tastes like super metallic tap water coffee. Odd and expensive. I do like that I get to make everything myself how I want it and I like the option to get refills (I don’t know if I’m actually supposed to but no one stopped me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) I tried a bit of the charged lemonade because I had seen a lot of people talking about it on Twitter and it IS good (and extremely sweet and insanely caffeinated for those who don’t know, like more than espresso) Obviously a ton of parking because it’s in a strip mall and plenty of comfortable seats inside."
