"The doctors seem very knowledgeable and capable. But do not expect to ever speak with them on the phone to discuss test results, treatment plans, or anything. Instead, expect a maze of telephone voice prompts and a sea of poorly trained, glorified message takers who are all but certain to wrongly transcribe your message, provide incorrect information, and/or make false promises. The doctors may be excellent, but the entire support system is an abysmal failure. It's a disgusting way to treat cancer patients (or any patient)."
"Came in for a regular colonoscopy ended up in ER with a blocked bladder emergency operation I was not expecting it all of the staff all of my cancer team is excellent in their field I'm happy that I chose University of Penn"
"Positive experience with Dr. Corey Langer. The wait was long, but he makes sure each of his patients gets the time and attention they need, which is wonderful and very important when dealing with something as serious as cancer. We happily waited to see him. He stayed late for us and was kind, professional, and honest. The valet parking is affordable and the attendants are prompt and kind. Grateful for the opportunity for my family member to receive treatment here."
"Did not have a good experience here. My father was transferred here from another cancer center in hopes to get better treatment. It did not seem like his doctor, Kim A. Reiss Binder read through his chart thoroughly before taking him on as a patient. My biggest concern however, is her bedside manners. When speaking with her on 10/6, my mother was explaining my fathers current issues he was experiencing. In the middle of the conversation she stated "it sounds like he's dying". This was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and inappropriate. Because she was on speakerphone, my father heard her. Whether she was on speakerphone or not, there are other ways to say things without being so blunt. As an oncologist you must show compassion and that isn't something that she did that day. The family and I are very disgusted and just wished for a better experience during this difficult time."
"Our daughter Maryann Romantini went there for treatment for lung cancer. She saw a Dr. Stephen Cohen who gave her Chemo. So after the 1 treatment a doctor came in the hospital & told her they didn't see any signs that it was going to do anything. So they gave her 2 more treatments. As it turned it they told her that she just needed to go on hospice. What a cold hearted person would do something like that, especially a doctor. And when she asked them what if it doesn't work, he told her that she would only have anywhere from a few weeks to a month. I just don't understand how any caring doctor would do something like As that to someone. I have no respect for someone like him. What a horrible thing to say to someone. I would never to to that hospital, I don't care what anyone else would say about them, & I have heard quite a few bad things about this hospital. As it turned out we lost our daughter 4/2/18 at the age of 49. This has to be the worst thing a parent should ever go through."
