"We came with advanced reservation on a Sunday afternoon. To get water- 15 minutes, to take order - 15 minutes, to bring food - 40 minutes. We are the only ones in the restaurant!! Next, the food is subpar. They used some old rancid oil, food portions are outrageously big, but the quality is below average. Perhaps works for those who live there near downtown, but for us who drove a bit, there is nothing to be admired of this place. We will not visit there."

"Despite Cafe in the name, I would categorize Bernards as being a higher end diner. The atmosphere was very cozy and clean. The menu is typical diner fare, but above average in quality. My Reuben was toasted to perfection, having just the right amount of sauerkraut and tender , flavorful, corned beef. Not chewy or overly fatty. The onion rings were tasty and mozzarella sticks about as good as they can get. The coffee was above average and well worth a refill. Service was quick but on par with typical diner service. I would definitely go back there again."

"Average breakfast spot. It didn’t seem like the most sanitary place. The place mats smelled and the food couldn’t make up for it. I got the corned beef hash with poached eggs, home fries, and rye toast. Everything was lackluster, especially the corned beef which tasted canned."
