"After being a custom kitchen cabinet maker for over 30 years, this is a first. We recently sent a client to Blonders for multiple appliances. Fridge, range and dishwasher. We have sent clients to them in the past after hearing they were a respectable family run business, which we are also. After selling our client the appliances, they decided to inform her that don’t deliver to center city. If she had known that, she probably would have went elsewhere. She decided to give them the business anyway because we told her we would pick up and install them. After installing the dishwasher, she tried using it that night with no luck. Turns out her BRAND NEW dishwasher needed a new control board. Pretty much the brain of the machine. Blonders told her she had to contact GE directly. She asked them for help but they said it’s a manufacturer issue. She reluctantly had to contact GE and they sent a repairman who although he was very nice and professional, didn’t speak a word of English. Any conversation had to be through his phone via Google translate. After a couple weeks, he returned with the new control panel. She thought she would finally be able to use her dishwasher. When he turned it on for a test run, the floor became soaked. He found ANOTHER broken part internally. She called Blonders again just requesting they replace it. Didn’t want nothing more than a working dishwasher, even though she has had to rearrange her schedule on multiple occasions to meet with the repairman. We don’t think it’s too much to expect your brand new appliance to work, or have it replaced if it doesn’t. Never heard of such bad customer service!!!"

"We've been longtime, loyal customers of Blonder's and have purchased several appliances there through the years. We like to support local businesses rather than go to the large chain stores whenever possible. We recently had a problem with our dishwasher being off-kilter, so we called an appliance repair company and spent $137 to have it checked. The technician told us that it wasn't properly installed when we bought it four years ago (the side screws didn't hit anything solid), and it was tilting as a result. We're not a family of dishwasher authorities. When we called Blonder's to try and explain, the owner reacted in a way I've rarely encountered with a business. He was defensive, combative and condescending ... and did I mention combative? If he had just said, "We'll send somebody over, and if it was our fault, we'll fix it for free. If not, a service call is $99,'' I would have been fine. Instead, he made us feel that we were either too obtuse to engage on the topic or trying to pull a scam. He was more interesting in telling us how much smarter he is than us than trying to constructively resolve the situation. Suffice to say, I would rather: a) try to fix it myself; b) call another repair company; or c) gouge out my eyes with a Phillips head screwdriver than patronize Blonder's again. I take zero joy or gratification in bashing a local business. But it's disappointing when you've liked and trusted a company for years and you have a terrible experience like this. Is zero stars an option?"

From the first moment I walked into the store to the time I left happy with everything they did for my family. I also love that I am supporting a local family business.
