"I was in NE Philly for a doctors appointment. Afterwards I started searching for a coffee shop. I stumbled on to Great Awakenings just by chance. What a gem! It is a lovely little coffee/ice cream shop. Really cool interior with plenty of comfortable places to hang out. (It would be a great place to work on a computer…they even have a printer available for customers.) There are pastries, breakfast sandwiches (I had avocado toast with bacon…yum!) and a limited lunch menu. And I really liked the vibe of this place. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. And it was just easy to chat with them. I wish this coffee shop was close to my house. I would be here all the time. I loved it!"
"Great place to get hot chocolate and some breakfast or lunch! Update as of 5/24/22 - just went back to this wonderful cafe and had the most amazing “Playa Bowl” (that would be translated as Beach Bowl) and Jeannine was fantastic!! It’s going to be sad to see them leave."
