"I would never consider using this company to repair my car. My kid got in an accident and our car was towed there. The insurance company determined it to be a total loss and asked that we go there to clean out the car and sign a release so the car could be moved to a lot that won't charge for storage. The very next day we head over there and the car has already been taken away - with my kid's stuff in it - and WITHOUT our permission. I called the insurance company to get that address of the storage facility, my son goes there the next day, and his $750 bass guitar amp has been stolen from the car. I called Action Automotive Collision Center to find out who released the car. The woman on the phone tells me the insurance company released it. So I asked what the person's name was who signed off on it and she got very short with me, saying the insurance company signed off on it and that I should have them call her. I called the insurance company and they told me they NEVER sign for the release of someone's car. I got a copy of the slip and where my signature was supposed to go it says "Ok to release." So there's no responsibility for loss, the insurance company won't cover it, saying it's the Autobody that's at fault, and Action Autobody says it's the insurance company that's at fault. Brilliant. Responding to below: Clearly you did release the car without the owner's permission. The insurance company did not own my car and no one signed for the car's release. We turned in the title at the storage yard the day after the car was moved and after the items were stolen. I asked your employee on the phone for the name of the person at the insurance company who released the car and all she would give me was the name of the insurance company – not a person. I have included an image showing the towing company invoice where I was supposed to sign for the release of my car. It shows the tow truck driver's signature, but no signature from an owner. So as this case illustrates, you do not always get the owner's permission to release the car."
