Reviews of Hudson Oral Surgery
"HORRID- I am compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience with Hudson Oral Surgery. As a new patient seeking dental care I expected more from this practice because they have pretty decent reviews BUT if you want to deal with racism, financial exploitation, and a complete lack of professionalism then this is the place for you. The receptionist's behavior not only demonstrated a lack of sensitivity but also a blatant display of racism. I was asked to pay an additional and extremely unreasonable amount on top of the deposit right on the spot or I would not be seen which they did not mention prior to the appointment. She had the audacity to insist that this is something they had informed me but I know that if they had I would've already decided to move on. They pushed me for payment based on unfounded assumptions about my financial capacity. I spoke with my insurance who also confirmed they had no right to ask me for this INSANE amount upfront. This discriminatory approach created an uncomfortable and offensive atmosphere. To top it off, they failed to get in contact with me as the patient even after the phone number was updated and written on all the paperwork. The lack of communication regarding the surgery was concerning. I was not contacted beforehand with any necessary precautions, which is crucial for any medical procedure. It left me feeling unprepared and uneasy about the entire process. Equally frustrating was the lack of effort in finding solutions. Instead of working collaboratively to address concerns, Hudson Oral Surgery seemed solely focused on pushing for more money. The back-and-forth discussions, combined with the discriminatory attitude, pointed to a disturbing pattern of prioritizing profits over patient well-being. To add insult to injury, I took a week off from work in anticipation of my wisdom teeth extraction, only to be informed 30 minutes before the procedure that Hudson Oral Surgery was not in network with my medical insurance but only my dental insurance. When I called my insurance the rep. said that this office did participate but regardless this is something the office should have advised me to confirm I wanted to proceed. This information, which they had ample time to disclose, was revealed at the last minute, causing significant inconvenience and frustration. My experience with Hudson Oral Surgery was nothing short of a nightmare, and I urge anyone considering their services to think twice. Such blatant disregard for patient well-being, coupled with discriminatory practices and a focus on financial gain, is entirely unacceptable in a healthcare setting. I hope this review serves as a warning to others and prompts Hudson Oral Surgery to reassess their practices for the sake of their patients and their own professional integrity. IN RESPONSE TO YOUR UNHELPFUL COMMENTS BELOW- IF YOU HAD DONE THAT THEN I WOULDN’T HAVE WRITTEN THIS REVIEW"
"I just left my wisdom tooth consultation with Dr. Bogart, and had such an amazing experience I couldn't wait to write a review. My dentist recently advised that I should have all of my wisdom teeth removed (at the age of 35 I am "lucky" enough to still have them), and sent me to an Oral Surgeon near her, in Montville, for a consultation. While this doctor was nice, he agreed they should be removed and quoted me over $3,000 to have what he considered "extremely easy extractions done that would take an hour at most", without IV sedation. When agonizing over this to my family, my cousin said that I needed to go for a second opinion with Dr. Bogart, as she recently had a wonderful experience having her wisdom teeth removed by him. I immediately made the appointment for my consult, and up until an hour ago, was worrying over the surgery in general, but more importantly the financial expense of it all, as I recently spent $7,000 having other "cosmetic" dental work done. Walking into Dr. Bogart's office, I immediately knew this was going to be a different experience, surgery or not. Everyone from the front desk staff, to the X-ray Tech and Dental Assistants were so incredibly nice and thorough. After a short conversation with Dr. Bogart, it was made clear that he felt my wisdom teeth should not be removed now, as they are not causing me any problems. Meeting a doctor with such great bedside manner who was so blunt in his assessment, making it clear that I shouldn't waste the time or money to have it done unnecessarily, but also eager to make sure I knew that he would be there should I need him in the future...was such a breath of fresh air and a rarity in the medical field to begin with! I will certainly be going back to Dr. Bogart and Hudson Oral Surgery should I ever need their services in the future and will rave about their practice to everyone I know. Thank you all so much!"
"I had a molar extracted recently by Dr Bogart. Emily and Ingrid assisted in the procedure, and they were both exceptional! They were friendly, professional and very thorough. After the extraction they provided guidance on next steps, medications, foods to avoid etc. They are very good at what they do!"
"In February I had to go to an oral surgeon and I choose Dr Bogart since both my girls had their wisdom teeth removed by his office. I went into the office very nervous but Emily and Ingrid were fantastic. Both were very caring and made me feel very comfortable. When I had to go back for the actual procedure they were even better. They both have great bedside manner and very professional. Thank you to Emily and Ingrid and the rest of Dr Bogart staff."
"I would like to express my sincere appreciation in regard to successful extraction of my tooth last week. I couldn't have been more fortunate for the procedure to go so well. Dr. Bogart and the staff are consummate professionals! I did not even know the tooth was removed until Doctor stated “all done.” As occasion should arise I will highly recommend Dr. Bogart and Hudson Oral Surgery. Thank you. Thomas Caleca Oxford, NJ"
