"Kesselman Clinical Associates, based in Devon, PA, is anchored by psychologist and practice director Paul Kesselman, Psy.D. I am a psychologist with an office nearby on the Main Line. I have been referring patients to Paul for years and can attest directly both to his clinical skill and therapeutic presence. Paul is a rare practitioner who combines a breadth of pertinent training/experience and the kind of charismatic & empathic presence that is, frankly, unteachable (meaning you either have it or you don't). He is gifted at forming meaningful connections with his child and adolescent patients that translate into observable results. Paul also understands how to be a partner and work with the entire family unit - this is particularly important with this population because the 'identified patient' is always part of a larger system that has its own dynamics. Parents feel comfortable with Paul and trust him. For example, I have had adult patients whose kids are Paul's patients, and they speak glowingly of his work. Overall, the practice has a 'strength based' approach, meaning they identify and enhance what is right and strong in their patients as a way of ameliorating what is not going as well. In terms of clinical specialties, they have niches working with Anxiety disorders, Autism spectrum disorders, and ADHD. One really appealing and unique facet of their practice is the social skills group that they run for teen patients. it is a great way of forming connection and learning how to better relate with peers. As you can probably deduce from this review, I am a big fan of both Paul's work and that of his practice. I highly recommend them without reservation. You would be well served working with them."
