"No certain amount of words can describe how thankful I am to have become a part of such an amazing program like Welsh Therapy. In my senior year of high school, I experienced a major loss, and being so young, I had no guidance or idea how to navigate my emotions and life at this point. I knew I could not process everything by myself, and sought people to talk to every day at school following this. An adult very close to me, knowing my interests, strengths, weaknesses, comforts, discomforts, everything, brought up the idea of trying art therapy. From here, I was led to Mary Luz, an amazing, caring, selfless, understanding, intelligent, calming, warm, empathetic, shining star of a woman. Her flexibility, patience, and understanding of the grief process and anxiety in general has helped me grow into a much stronger person than I was before getting pushed to my weakest. Since meeting Mary Luz, I have reached milestones since the loss, graduated high school, started and adjusted to college, and am now almost halfway through my second year of college. With switching between living at home and at school, I continue to meet Mary Luz on a weekly basis, whether online or in person, as although we do not talk about the loss as often now, I still see such a large need for her in my life, and she has been nothing but attentive, caring, and amazing in being a helpful outlet. As someone who already finds peace in anything artistic, and also finds peace in the meaning behind things, the integration of art therapy into my life has been astonishing."
"Mary Luz is a gift. Her calm demeanor was well received. Our child absolutely adores her ! Is now doing great all thanks to Mary luz teaching proper coping mechanisms to handle anxiety. We are thrilled with the entire team and experience. Highly- highly recommend."
"Mary Luz has provided kindness, empathy and patience with my 12 year old Maddie (started at 11). Maddie has gone from not wanting to get up for school everyday last school year to getting up on her own and looking forward to each school day. I highly recommend her art therapy as an outlet for anxiety or to alleviate daily preteen/teen stressors!"
"If you are looking for support for your teenager, this is the place. Since we started working with Welsh over 9 months ago, the experience is always stellar. Communication is proactive, approaches are integrative, and the personalized support is consistent. I was inspired to write this because we are currently navigating a crisis challenge with our child and both Lynn, the founder, and Jennifer, our daughter's therapist, have both been an incredible source of comfort and expertise, making sure our daughter gets quality care, even in cases where she's being referred for other services. We feel incredibly fortunate and grateful to have found the Welsh group. It has had such a positive impact on our daughter's healing and our own ability to get her the best care possible."
