"My story started about 8 months ago, with knee pain which gradually effected my entire right leg. My efforts to resolve this problem included my primary care physician, two orthopedic surgeon's, a cortisone injection in my knee, prescription anti-inflammatory medications, OTC pain relievers and various topical creams, ice packs, two sets of x-rays, followed by weeks of physical therapy, a referral to a neurologist, two kinds of nerve medication and a painful nerve test, called an EMG. Furthermore, there was discussion of further testing including an MRI. During all this, I never received a definitive diagnosis! I was totally frustrated! Whether it was with my cross country running daughters with knee or SI joint problems, or my husband with "tennis elbow", or me with what my doctor diagnosed as a "pulled muscle", Dr. Schaeffer has always been able to assess and pinpoint the issue.
