"Not at all impressed. Our insurance recommended Dr. Bartek. Office and wait area (the hallway right outside of his office) looks like a depressed area of Detroit: dark, dismal, not air-conditioned (wait area), generally depressing and miserable, especially in warmer months. Restrooms are available only with a key, obtained by Dr. Bartek. If he is in session, you're stuck unless you seek a key from another tennant. No water fountains that I saw for drinks. We were seeking assistance for my child (age 3). Dr. Bartek took less than 30 seconds before diagnosing my child with ADD/ADHD. All follow up appointments were "parent" centered instead of child centered. When he did speak to my child, he used lingo that was not age appropriate and too advanced for my child. When we offered lingo that our child would know, Dr. Bartek would not use it. Dr. Bartek immediately wanted to medicate. We hesitated and requested behavioral therapy instead. Dr. Bartek was insistent about medication and how medication will make our child so much better in school. (We sought assistance elsewhere. Our child is doing SO much better using behavioral and cognitive therapies, and does not need medication!) The writing on the wall, he told one of us that we may have passed the ADD/ADHD gene on to my child. Only problem is--our child is adopted and Dr. Bartek was told this on several occasions. Not at all impressed. I very strongly do not recommend this guy."
