"It's a little telling that half of the 5 star reviews are from staff. My experience with Anchorpoint was less than stellar. We were told that Anchorpoint was able to provide non faith-based marriage counseling, and then were told that our issues were too complicated for counseling or something of that nature, after an investment of 5+ visits and my insurance money. Basically, we were dumped! I've never been told anything similar by any counselor in my life. Isn't that the whole point of counseling? I could see being recommended individual counseling while continuing couples counseling, but In reading between the lines and in retrospect, I think the fact that we are not religious people was an issue. Normally I would just write to an organization instead of a public review, and I very rarely post less than 4 star reviews. However, I wish I had been warned a bit before I wasted my time. Maybe this place is great for children or folks that have some surface-level communication issues. But if you are seeking counseling or therapy for real-world issues, you might search elsewhere, and secular folks be warned as well."

"Anchorpoint ministries has been a fantastic experience. The staff at both the counseling center and tutoring center are second to none. Kindness and compassion are incorporated into all of their programs. If you are unsure if their programs could benefit you, please reach out to them and discuss. The staff is very informative and can answer your questions and address your concerns. The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive to individual needs. Highly recommended!!!!"

For example, it is extremely important that a staff member or volunteer answer our phones before going to voicemail during business hours - no one likes to talk to an automated system. My husband has also enjoyed working with and sharing his love of math and science with students in the tutoring program. "My 4th and 2nd grader both love Anchorpoint's tutoring department. My 4th grader has been coming for 3 years and has progressed greatly in her academics and is much more confident in her abilities. She spoke highly of her experience last year that my son begged to attend this year. We had tried private tutoring in the past but it became to expensive, Anchorpoint's rates are more affordable. The tutors are very personable and are able to explain things using methods my children can relate to. In todays academic world, I am thankful I found Anchorpoint."
