Reviews of Dr. Ravi Kant, MD
"On 01/19/24 I called the office, spoke to a receptionist AND emailed my provider. I did not get a response after asking said receptionist to speak to anyone on Kant’s team as I was hypomanic. Thank God that I didn’t want to hurt myself nor anyone else! On 01/25/24 After no reply, I called the office again, got increasingly upset, proceeded to upset the receptionist who was being inconsiderate and defending my provider AND emailed Dr. Kant. Now, 01/30/24, Ravi Kant himself has chosen not to follow-up with me even though I directly asked him to. In 2 1/2 years, not once, did the doctor - Dr. Kant - take it upon himself to have any communication with me or to check in with my mental wellness. I don’t know why I thought this time would be any different. Do not waste your time/energy here. The way Kant runs his practice is an disgrace to the mental health profession!"
"Absolutely horrible staff. I was prescribed pysch meds here and when there was an issue with getting a refill the front desk was incredibly condescending and rude. They offered no real solution and proceeded to legitimately hang up on me mid conversation as they were clearly not equipped to handle anything other than punching in insurance information to a spreadsheet. A joke of a practice - steer clear!"
"The psyciatrists themselves are wonderful and very helpful but the office/receptionists are the absolute worst most degrading/dehumanizing people I’ve ever had to deal with. I called simply asking “hey, I’m at my pharmacy, I had my appointment a little over an hour ago and they say they don’t have the prescription (mind you I have never had a single issue with this pharmacy not receiving prescriptions they usually fill it within 20 minutes at most) can you double check for me or resend it?” I was then told in the most degrading way/tone of voice about how my appointment was only an hour ago and it can’t be their fault because it’s sent on their end and it’s the pharmacies fault and how they just need to refresh their web page even though I watched my psychiatrist send my prescription and was told by them that I can go pick it up it will be refilled. On top of this they wouldn’t even give me meds to hold me over for a week until my next appointment after I ran out. It was an incredibly upsetting experience for a practice that is supposed to help improve people’s mental health, and I do not recommend anyone go here."
"This is quite possibly the worst psychiatrist office in the Pittsburgh area. The front desk staff, and the women who answer the phone are some of the worst human beings I’ve ever spoken to in my life. They seem to take pleasure in not helping you and upsetting you in anyway they possibly can. Don’t forget it’s a mental health/psychiatric practice and they want to upset you when you call. I have been going there for about 3 years and I am absolutely horrified at how bad things have gotten. My doctor has changed 3 times in 2 years because they keep leaving for other practices. I wonder why…. They never notify you to let you know they are changing your care provider, you just show up to your appointment and they have you scheduled with a different person. There is no care in their healthcare anymore. I had an 1130 appointment via Tele health video and they let me wait in the portal for 2 1/2 hours just to further disconnect me. When I called the woman who answered the phone at the front desk said that I missed my appointment (which I didn’t) and I would have to reschedule. When I told her that I needed my medication’s for my mental health and was out of them she said “Email your provider and see if they answer you”. That’s the best you could do. When I expressed to her that I was very concerned without my MENTAL HEALTH medications she then threatened me by informing me she was terminating our call. “Shouldn’t have missed your appointment” she said. I DIDN’T!! I will never go there again and will strongly encourage everyone who asks me to never go to this horrible so called Mental Health clinics office. If you can’t tell by reading all this, it’s one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in my Life."
"I was directed to fill out a new patient request form online for my daughter. Forget speaking to a human, maybe once you're deemed acceptable. When two weeks elapsed and I hadn't heard anything, I followed up only to find out they never received the forms I submitted (yes, I have the receipt they had been completed). They were rude about it, implying I hadn't done so. So I completed the forms again, only to find out they aren't accepting new patients. Why not just be upfront with this information and not waste our time? Everyone is busy and our time is just as valuable as yours Dr. Kant + staff. Your practice isn't unique in that department. If this is how people are treated and time is valued, I'd recommend looking elsewhere."
