Reviews of Cranberry Psychological Center
"My experience has been negative. I've been waiting since Jan. 5 for a call to schedule an appt. Called Cranberry on Jan. 10th to be told they had no information even though I specifically spoke to James on Jan. 4th. Gave my full information again to receptionist, said I would get an email shortly after. Never received it. Called again this morning (Jan. 19th) and I spoke with the same lady, although she denies it was her. Again, they don't have any of my information that I had given twice before. How?! She was going to take it again but I politely declined. Will find someone else, thanks."
"If I could give less stars I would. My family (2 adults 2 children have been going here for many years. Recently we've had nothing but issues. Yesterday my adult child called to ask questions about doing a release form. First off if you switch to a different place they won't release your info after you've signed the papers and they take up to 30 days for your doctor to either deny or approve the release. Which sounds absurd to me. Still looking for something that says they can do that and haven't found it. But she was just outright rude about it and kept repeating herself that he needed to sign the release forms. That isn't what he was asking. Then in an ongoing issue they charged us $200 for an appointment they cancelled. We received the policy and the policy repeated in a text saying that you call 24 hours before if you are unable to make the appointment. Then we received another text with grammar mistakes saying “per policy” call to confirm or we will cancel and book someone else. We get a phone call the morning of that they booked someone else and they wanted $200 for a cancellation fee. (Because we didn’t call. Per policy you call when you are UNABLE to make it) She was very rude to me and when I said I knew the policy she told me all the doctors have different policies and I should’ve read it. I read it. Many times. I knew the policy. There was no mention of them canceling and booking someone else and still expecting us to pay. We’ve called the billing department and now have waited over a week for someone to respond. The idea of a cancellation fee is that the company missed an opportunity for that spot when you don’t show up. Not to get paid by the person you booked AND the person you canceled on. Don’t waste your time at this place."
"First of all I want to say I read the reviews here and the people who wrote the bad ones clearly have no idea there’s a mental health epidemic in this country. Learn to be patient the health care industry has been hit hard due to Covid and still is. And yes that means mental health too. So be patient. They are doing the best they can. I however think this place is amazing. I’m always excited on my therapy day. My therapist is great. He’s truly empathetic and has helped me make major improvements in my depression. Grace, one of the receptionists is so pleasant to check in with. She’ll always greet you with a warm smile and friendly voice. Her calm demeanor is the perfect start to the great experiences you’ll have here. And yes, sometimes they do cancel on you last minute but 95% of the time it’s due to a patient in crisis mode that needs to be seen immediately. Which could be a life or death situation for some people. So don’t be upset if that happens. It’s actually a sign that they care very much about their patients. And I know what you’re gonna say “But Annie what if I really need my appointment that day too”. Speak up. Tell them that. They will figure it out and see you. They are extremely accommodating. I’ve been to so many different psychological practices and this is the first one that’s actually been helpful to me."
"If I could leave zero stars as a rating I would do so, but unfortunately, that is not possible. Why the poor review? Because I called the main number on April 19th during regular business hours, listened to their phone tree and selected what I thought was the appropriate option for a new patient to make a first-time appointment; I was directed to leave a message, and that someone would call me back, and I did so. Three days went by with no response, and I thought that maybe I selected the wrong mailbox, so I called again after hours on April 22nd and left a message on the general mailbox, in the hopes that my request would be directed to the appropriate staff. It is now May17th, and I have yet to receive a callback. Below is their mission statement: "OUR BELIEF Our core belief is that help begins with a strong therapist/client relationship that helps you achieve long-term results." I dispute this...... your core belief should be that help begins with a response to a potential patient trying to make an appointment."
"Post MVA I see David S Hillard for panic attacks, High levels of anxiety, inability to drive ( let alone get in a car), nervousness and reassurance of my sanity! I have never been made to feel belittled, I have always had my feelings validated discussed and offered alternate views to see if that’s really what I thought and sometimes that’s all that it takes to realize that maybe I wasn’t in the right frame of mind. Now my hands shake constantly …. And it’s embarrassing!! That car accident was the most traumatic thing I’ve ever experienced in the world in my entire life. I ( was hit by a large pick up truck at 70 mph on 79 that came out of nowhere … I do not know if I will ever get over it because I honestly don’t know how I survived it. I do not know how I wasn’t killed. I definitely had a guardian Angel sitting on my heart and one on my shoulder that’s for sure. But it still doesn’t take all the stress away. I do really relive that event often, it’s very hard to let go or for me I don’t believe I dwell on it although that’s what they call it it’s a flashback I cannot get rid of but we’re working on it. One day at a time… one day at a time."
