"I have had several appointments for my pregnancy so far, and have had mixed experiences. The actual medical staff (doctors, nurses) have been fine, but the medical assistants are extremely rude and unfriendly. I have 2 so far that made me feel like my mere presence was an unwanted inconvenience. When working in a job where you must deal with people, especially women who may be having anxiety about embarking on the journey of motherhood, I feel this is completely unacceptable."
"The residents at this practice are very attentive and amazing. They do listen and answer your concerns during pregnancy, my issue is the medical assistants. I don’t know if it was TODAY or this is how they handle regular patients. During my visit today, one of the MA’s with the low bun i think her name is Daiza was very rude! Would not look while speaking , and when I asked if she was using a certain needle she got smart with me. If you do not want to handle concerned pregnant woman then it’s time for her to work at a different facility. I also declined a vaccine and she said out her mouth “do you not want antibodies for your baby”. Excuse me ? I thought it was patients right to decline vaccines as a pregnant woman who is already high risk without the smart comments. I am so over the medical assistants here and will not return to this facility for my next pregnancy. I have only met ONE nice Assistant here and that’s just ridiculous."
"Editing to add: GO TO THE PROUD CENTER AT U PENN!!!! They are absolutely amazing and provided me the most compassionate care, the longest appointment, answered all my questions in detail and were incredibly informative. Stay away from the ludmir center. If you have any history of substance use you should not go here. You will be looked at and treated differently. First the nurse accused me of losing 30 pounds while pregnant… because she was looking at a weight recorded from a year ago. It is also resident-ran so the questions I asked were brought out into the hallway to some unknown attending doctor, then resident came back in & tried to explain answers & was clearly struggling. I asked her about the safety of a prescription medication during pregnancy and instead of giving me any details of why she answered this way she told me “oh no it’s not safe. It’s like drinking alcohol.” Not helpful to make a pregnant woman feel like she was “drinking alcohol” by taking a PRN medication for PTSD. I learned nothing from them. The ultrasound picture I was given was a big blur. The Pap smear was the most uncomfortable one I’ve ever gotten in addition to two other people being in the room. Rather than continuing the method of harm reduction I utilize now I was suggested to “get back on suboxone it’s safe during pregnancy” despite sharing that i did not want to do that. At the end I got the typical look of pity from the resident, telling me I will need to go to the high risk OB because of my history of substance use and I don’t know if she was trying to be empathetic or what by continuing to look at me in a weird way and walking me out but it was all super odd. I’m so glad I found a different provider early enough in pregnancy."
"First time patient here pregnant with twins . I love it here, the doctor's and staff are very professional and passionate, waiting time is not long at all. I will be continuing my care here after my pregnancy."
"This doctors office is the absolute worst ! I would not recommend going here to no damn pregnant person. They drag when it comes to doing paper work ! They don’t take your concerns serious. It’s resident ran which is horrible and had I known that before going back I would not have came back here for my prenatal care . I was a patient before with my first born and had a great experience which is why this go round I went back. This place is not the same in no way shape or form! These new “doctors “ they have are horrible. It’s only literally like 3 doctors that are good . But getting an appointment with them each time is like pulling shark teeth. To add insult to injury they don’t have appointments available for those of us who have to go weekly due to us being at the end of pregnancy which is when it is most crucial! All they can tell you is they’ll put you on a damn waitlist! So unacceptable! If I could give zero stars I would!"
