Reviews of UPMC Horizon - Greenville
"I have been to the ER several times over the last two years for care due to a transplant I had. I got right in immediatly every time and the issue was resolved every time. I am very happy there is such a facility so close to my home. I also use their lab for my tests and they ship the transplant lab work to Cleveland. They are so kind and helpful. It saves me a ton of time and expense not having to drive Niles, Ohio, the closest Cleveland Clinic collection site. They are a real blessing to me."
"Treated my sister horribly wouldn’t even tell my sister who her own doctor was gave two minutes to say goodbye to her daughter because she was being sent away due to mental issues the security there was very rude. The cops was disrespectful. I would not recommend this place as somewhere where you would feel safe and well taken care of because well it it shows they showed it for themselves and that’s that’s all that’s all I needed. I would not recommend this hospital. If the employees don’t like their jobs they shouldn’t have went to college for that career if they didn’t or wasn’t or is not going to care for their patients the way they deserve to be treated in the way they deserve to be cared for grosses me out and makes me sick the way these people, patience and why did you choose a career?"
"I went to Greenville hospital because I thought I was having a heart attack and they ran tests and said everything was good but then he shut the lights off and left the door a jar! I thought I was in the twilight zone! I went home and after about a hour I called a ambulance and they took me to sharon regional were I had a heart attack on the way there"
"We recently arrived in Greenville. My son contracted an infection in his ear the last couple of days. Brought him into the ER due to increasing pain and changes to the back of his ear. The first night was fine, seen in a decent amount of time, received answers, first dose of antibiotics and a prescription. Since it was nighttime, we would have to wait to get our prescription the next day. Prior to leaving the nurse provided me with things to look out for, which included a "high fever" and "pus". The night after returning from the ER, my 5 year old spiked a high fever and was having oozing to his ear, according to THEIR instructions this was terms to be seen immediately. Once the attending ER physician (Dr. Ali) came into the examination room, he was extremely condescending about WHY I was back at the ER with my sick son, and that it was "too soon". If that's the case, then perhaps their care instructions need to be updated to "do all of the above and then seek help" , otherwise you're making a concerned mother feel like she did the wrong thing by putting her down for seeking care. Their time is just as valuable as mine, and this experience is infuriating and makes me think twice about the value of care patients receive at this facility when your physicians are allowed to speak to humans, to MOTHERS, that way. Ridiculous."
"My visit on 3/6/23 will be my last here. I have had bad experiences in the past. When I was younger, they misdiagnosed me with a bladder infection and gave me horrendous horse pills that made me violently ill. Turns out, I had no infection and just needed some physical therapy. Last year, I went in *reluctantly* after nonstop vomiting. They ran some tests and gave me anti-nausea medicine and sent me on my way. Turns out, I had COVID-19 and they NEVER TESTED FOR IT. This brings me to my most recent visit. I was hacking and had terrible body and chest pain, which led me to go here in the middle of the night. The problem I had with this visit came with my discharge. After waiting around for 1.5 hours for the results of a pee test, nurse Kathleen came in to discharge me. When she handed me my papers, she asked me if I was still experiencing symptoms with an attitude that made it feel like she thought I was lying about being sick. I had been coughing very hard all night and moaning in pain, so for her to ask me that question in the way she did felt completely invalidating. Also, she did not tell me I have a UTI in my discharge. I found out by reading through my discharge papers and looking at my test results myself. UTIs don’t have to be a big deal, but it was extremely overwhelming to find that out on my own after being in the hospital for 3 hours. It sent me into a breakdown and made me feel like no one cares about me b/c the nurse herself didn’t care to tell me what my results were. Also, upon reflection about my visit, they never asked me on a scale of 1-10 what I would rate my pain, which I thought was a standard question especially since I was prescribed pain killers. It has me wondering, do they do the same thing when prescribing stronger pain killers than mine? This has me believing that they are contributing to the opioid epidemic by not properly screening people for their pain, but that part is just a hunch. Overall, DO NOT GO HERE!"
