"The staff and teachers at Alphabet Treehouse have been a much needed support and consistent source of dependable care for our 4.5 year old and 2 year old daughters throughout our time in Philadelphia. We have been a part of this center for the past > 4 years. There is a great group of supportive parents and my family has made very meaningful relationships throughout our time at the center. Sadly we are relocating to Michigan and only hope to find care that matches the excellence that we have received at Alphabet. Even during the uncertain times throughout the pandemic, Alphabet teachers joined zoom meet ups and posted some worksheets/ craft ideas. We will miss our community in Philadelphia and especially our friends and teachers at Alphabet. Best, The McCarthy Family"
"We have been with Alphabet for 3 years and HIGHLY recommend! The Alphabet family has been so wonderful to our son. If you are looking for a nurturing, loving, consistent environment, you have found it. They have given him such a firm foundation. His vocabulary and his social skills are thriving due to the structure and LOVE that they show each child. The health battle that we have been tackling with our son has been eased by Alphabet's support and again, clear love and care. They really impressed me with the way that they handled this insanely unprecedented year of covid with love and care. They were flexible and accommodating in a time that was very complicated. The consistency of teacher faculty and the consistency of each day were a firm foundation that we rely on and thank everyone at Alphabet for working so hard to maintain!"
"Our daughter was in the Alphabet treehouse infant room from the time she was 12 weeks old. I can’t say enough good things about the teachers and staff here. Our daughter was so well cared for, she loved going to daycare each day and we felt like she was in great hands. We moved out of state when our daughter was 6 months old and leaving this daycare was the hardest part - we wish we could take it with us! Communication between the staff and parents was excellent and one of my favorite parts about working with them. There is an app they use to post updates throughout the day, including when the baby ate/napped/diapers, photos (our fave!), and updates about upcoming holidays or birthday celebrations. We also were very impressed by how they’ve been handling COVID-19. Students are kept within their small class to minimize exposure between different pods of kids and staff, which minimizes the effect of closures on families since only that classroom has to quarantine after a positive case. For the few positive cases that they’ve had in staff or students, the center has followed CDC guidelines to a T. We loved it there, we felt safe leaving our baby with them, and I would recommend them to any local family!"
"I have been an early intervention provider in Philadelphia for over 5 years. As an individual who provides services to the 0-3 population, I have had the pleasure, and displeasure, of frequenting many of Philadelphia's daycares. ABC academy, at surface level, appears to be a nurturing environment where you send your child to grow and learn. However, I was shocked and disappointed by their limited knowledge of child development and their inability to provide positive and meaningful learning experiences. This was especially evident regarding children who required additional support and/or who had special needs. I was assigned to provide services to a child at this facility. The majority of early intervention focuses on educating caregivers on ways to help develop the area(s) where the child exhibits a delay or disorder. When trying to collaborate with teachers and staff, I was repeatedly blocked/shut down by the director, who claimed, "This child is NOT the only child at this daycare". This remark was made over a visual schedule, which quite frankly, should be present at all daycares given that children are visual learners! I was labeled as "disruptive" when I encouraged the children to play together (social communication) versus isolating them in areas of the carpet. The staff didn't recognize that toddlers learn, primarily, through play and social interactions. These are two examples of many. I would caution any parent against sending their child to this center, especially if they require early interventionists, which would include children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delays etc. They may look inviting and friendly on the outside but they lack serious substance within. Zero stars."
"The staff is all but a facade. They tell you all these great activities that they are involved in and how well your child(ren) will be taken care of (all with a smile, of course) but like the other poster said, they did something to my child to make my daughter beg me never to bring her back there. In addition my child did not learn anything but get sick going there, and she only attended for a week. I would never bring my child there again."
