"I still remember when my daughter attend this day care. She was potty trained. One day I found when she came home with the dirty underwear ( BM) all over her legs. The assistant teacher did not help at all. I can’t imagine, how long she has to wear on dirty underwear?? I talked with the director about it. The Teacher did not say anything. My hope at least the Teacher give me an explanation.. just be aware…"
"This daycare was great at the beginning with the old director (Ms. Chelsey). After she left, this place just went down hill. The director there now is clueless and not helpful at all. If your child get injured, get ready for lies and excuses. They even post up every parent tuitions on the kids locker for everyone to see, who the hell does that?, also raise the rates one week before tuition was due!!. This place is now a joke!.."
"Please strongly consider all other options before sending your child here. Our toddler had been at Young Hearts for about a year. Initially the center was under different leadership, our child enjoyed his teachers, came home with plenty of art projects, was learning a ton. Behavior was never an issue at home or at school. When it came time to move up, the transition was initially great. Continued learning, growing, having fun. This was however short lived as leadership in the classroom changed with different teachers that we felt were not at all qualified (literally, have no training in early childhood development or toddler level teaching/certifications/formal education). They moved previously infant teachers in with older toddlers-With this came less learning, more time spent watching tv (which we noticed numerous times when picking up or dropping off). We had also noticed a change in behavior. Our child became more confrontational with us as well as other children in class. We had walked in on our toddler being "disciplined" by one of teachers which involved him being yelled at and told to apologize to another student. Instead of being at the child's level, talking with a calm voice, explaining that certain behavior is unacceptable, he was yelled at to the point of tears, running towards us when we walked through the door. Furthermore our toddler began saying "I'm sorry" during diaper changes and developed a huge aversion to Diaper change time. What only added to our frustration was noticing the teachers bringing their own children into the class, which not only took focus and supervision off our our kid, but is frankly unacceptable. They were not abiding by the teacher:student ratio and no administrator was present. They would constantly be on their phones and gave generic responses at pick up, never child specific. And what adds insult to injury is the teachers would refuse to greet parents with a smile, offer a concise summary of the day, tell us how lunch time went. One of the teachers advised that I spank him hard, which is not our style of parenting. Our child was on his way to being fully potty trained, garnered good behavior towards others, and was for the most part a happy kid. He then regressed completely to being back in diapers due to their lack of enthusiasm or involvement, and mimics their behavior by yelling and saying things like "say sorry now!" We tried to talk to the administrator multiple times about moving our son up to the next class or even back down until Sept, but they were unwilling to work with us. Had the classroom leadership stayed as it was we would have had no issues continuing our relationship with this center, however red flag after red flag lead us to no other conclusion but to remove our child from this place. We have since placed our child in a center that has qualified teachers and cameras. But, every time I drive by Young Hearts, my child yells out and cries, "I don't want to go to Miss A****, I don't want to go to Miss D******!!!" I cant even imagine how they must have treated him and other children, yes this place is inexpensive, but you don't need to pay high school/GED "teachers" that much $, you get what you pay for, unprofessional, poorly trained, so called "teachers" (this review does not represent all the teachers there)--- Please be advised."
