Plato's Closet Ledgewood 1029 U.S. 46, NJ, NJ 07852

"As an avid thrifter, this place is such a letdown from the rude staff to the underwhelming selection, Throughout the years that I have been in the store the staff gives a very don't bother me vibe. Prices here are not great either you are better off going to other second-hand stores such as Goodwill, Salvation Army, or even the Plato's Closet in Fairfield (which staff is not rude and they have more of a selection). From the few times that I have been lazy to list clothing up online and I decided to take it into the store each time I leave the store disappointed with the amount they are giving and they give most of your clothing back although it is better than most of the dated clothing that is in the store. I will no longer be shopping here and stick to the other thrift stores."

"The staff is so rude here. Not even worth going. Either find a different Plato’s Closet location or don’t even bother. The girl at the counter wouldn’t give me the time of day when i asked what the process was (the last time i went to a Plato’s Closet (different location), the staff went through my items right in front of me which i liked, as i was able to ensure no items were overlooked, went missing, etc.) This time, she told me i had to come back 30 minutes later and I wasn’t even able to watch them go through my items. Given how rude she was, I didn’t trust her and I’m sure some of my items are missing in what they gave back to me. A different woman was at the front desk when i returned. She didn’t even turn around when talking to me. She asked for my last name with her back to me, so i couldn’t even hear her and i had to ask her to repeat herself. She proceeded to tell me that due to the season, they weren’t taking everything I had brought (which was fine, i figured they wouldn’t take everything, especially dresses), but then told me that they were taking 5 items. She didn’t even tell me which 5 items until i asked to see them. She lifted up a box, and folded each item over the other so i could “see” them. The funny thing is, they took 4 sweaters and 1 sundress. I asked “you’re taking that dress but not the other dresses i brought in?” Her response was “we’re selective.” She doesn’t even know she took the cheapest dress out of all of my items — there were dresses far nicer and far more expensive in what i had brought in. Regardless, they gave me $17 for 5 items. $17 is a fraction of what i paid for ONE of those sweaters. Just not worth it, especially given how nasty they are in here. As i was walking out, another customer was walking out behind me and i said to her “my God, they’re so mean in there.” She completely agreed with me and said it was a waste of her time to even go. Message to the staff: If you hate your job, you don’t need to take it out on the customers. Despicable behavior by the staff and I’ll never return to this place ever in my life. What a waste of time!"

"Let’s just say this is such an amazing store! I brought my daughter and her friends, (they are all like 14y/o) and they all loved it! They all got so many nice trendy pieces for a fraction of the price of retail! One of my go to spots now!"

"I absolutely love this store ! Not only was it extremely organized and clean, the customer service was fantastic. I bought some of my all time favorite pieces of clothing there, and the prices were so reasonable. Definitely one of my favorite stores now and I will recommend to anyone !!"

"I went to sell some clothes and a pair of boots that were all in perfect condition and I was told that mostly everything was stained and was only offered $16.50 for my $60 boots and a $40 shirt. They didn’t even tell me what they took out of my bin before offering money they just took my things and offered money before I even made a decision. I tried being nice to the employees and they all seemed agitated and acted very rude basically slamming pens and receipts in front of me. I was a regular there but I’m definitely taking my business elsewhere because that was just unbelievable."
