Reviews of SAGA
"Exceptional experience from start to finish. All staff were welcoming, accommodating, & knowledgeable. Each course was outstanding & equally as beautifully presented. I highly recommend also doing the wine pairing with your tasting menu. Views are unbelievable! Perfect place to celebrate"
"This was one of the great experiences I have had. From the welcome drinks to the last dessert, I have nothing to say but good about the food. The staff is welcoming; they definitely contributed to great experience I have had at Saga.Be sure to checkout both terraces before or after the meal."
"Wow, kinda disappointing overall experience here. There’s a definite disconnect between what you would expect from a Michelin 3* and what is delivered, especially at the eye-popping prices paid. As noted in many other reviews, service lapses are astonishing. We finished our aperitif cocktails and were never offered the beverage list until we asked and by the time our drinks came we were on our last savory dish. Poor form. Meanwhile, the sommelier was going on for 10 minutes about various vineyards to the tables with the “Discovery” wine pairing ($295!/person) while we were ignored. Please. There were also strangely long delays between courses. And finally, it was literally 30 minutes after we finished the mediocre dessert before the bill arrived. I wasn’t in a rush but it was almost midnight (8:15pm reservation) because of the delays and my husband had to work in the morning. Absurd. There were a couple of standouts among the courses but more misses than hits. Overall I’d say that the menu seemed unfocused and poorly designed. Incoherent. We liked the caviar course, the oyster (singular!) was good; the duck was good but strangely offered as a Moroccan themed course with hummus (!) and yogurt. Just not what I’d expect at an elegant and expensive high-end restaurant. For $300 maybe even give a second oyster. And if you’re going to charge $35 for a glass(!) of wine, make it a decent pour. You’re welcomed warmly and given a small welcome drink. The staff is constantly asking what you liked best. It’s almost like they are trying to distract you from the bad service by pretending to be interested in your opinion. I could go on but this was definitely one of the least interesting 3* meals I’ve had and I couldn’t recommend it. In NYC you can easily find better meals and better service for this price. The view is nice but doesn’t make up for the other significant shortcomings. Skip it. A couple of afterthoughts: there was a handwritten birthday note on the table to greet us, a nice touch."
"I had an outstanding experience at SAGA. The cuisine was exceptionally impressive, featuring elements from around the world. During my dining experience, I felt like I embarked on a global culinary journey, savoring the best of the best from the planet within just three hours. The overall experience was comprehensive, including a delightful cocktail tasting and scenic views on the terrace. If there's an aspect I believe SAGA could enhance, it would be the service. While the servers were all highly professional, with some being exceptionally friendly, I sensed that the overall experience had a somewhat mechanical feel, reminiscent of watching a well-rehearsed Broadway show. While I admire the professionalism of the servers, I believe there's room for improvement in striking a better balance between the sophisticated yet somewhat distant atmosphere and creating a sense of welcoming comfort, akin to being back at home."
"The food was truly amazing. All the flavors were very interesting and played well with each other. Creative yet measured. Almost everything was to my taste, the execution was nearly perfect, and I'm happy I tried it. The bento box and the meats were my favorites. I would have liked the dessert to be bolder. The views are breathtaking, and the service was excellent."
