"My husband and I went here for my birthday the man who served us (andrew i believe) was great kinda and compassionate. Would definitely recommend the food and drinks were great. It was such a nice night. There was a slight disturbance and it was handled with kindness and compassion. Can't recommend this place enough we will be back!"
"J.J. Ratigan Brewing Company is a brewery with a beautiful building at a great location. They have a great selection of beer and I was excited to try out their menu. Unfortunately, I may have caught them on an off day. I ordered a burger and they made a few mistakes: the bun wasn't toasted, the burger was overcooked (I ordered medium and got well done), and it was heavily sauced. The sauce was a little bland and created a messy experience. The service was a little slow. When asked for a beer recommendation the bartender responded with "I'm not a mind reader, here's the drink menu." Yikes. With that said, it does look like a good spot. One visit is usually not enough to get a full feel of a restaurant. I recommend lowering your expectations for food and using the building to socially drink with friends instead. I don't know the area too well and don't have another spot to recommend at this time."
"Massive space, with something for everyone. Stopped for a bite after a surprisingly long hike nearby. The chicken BALT was devoured in an embarrassingly quick time. I think it was good, but honestly I can't remember (I neglected to pack trail snacks). The fries had potential, but they were either old or just too greasy; in my ravenous state, I left them behind. I wouldn't recommend sitting at the far corner of the bar, unless you wanna hear all the staff tea (I hope that guy was able to get his keys out of his locked car... good to hear the server who didn't tip the bartender out the night before was coming in to make it right...) The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable with loads of hustle. He shared that there's live music every Fri and Sat upstairs and downstairs... revers HH downstairs (9-11), plus 2 pool tables and shuffleboard downstairs. Upstairs also had a shuffleboard table and the cool ring game (perfectly placed if there's a line at the ladies restroom). Bathroom was clean and stocked. Would be back, and highly recommend."
"Did it cost more than expected ? Probably. Was it really good and worth every penny? Absolutely. The wings were huge and done really well and the burger had great flavors. Fries were top tier. Surprisingly a donut flight was 100% the right call and so good."
"Nice downtown brewery/brewpub with a full bar and a full menu. JJs was well equipped - tons of tables and bar seats upstairs plus another game-room bar downstairs with pool tables and shuffle board tables. They also have a nice covered outdoor "front porch" area with a nice view of the street and downtown.l Pottstown. Tons of different styles on the beer list and all the beer was solid. They sell flights of 4 and they have an "upside down" happy hour that starts at 9 pm which offers select $5 drafts, drinks and food specials. We took a ride share from our hotel but there is plenty of street parking. We were in Pottstown on a Friday night and, other than JJs, there wasn't much open after 10 pm (rain washed out any chance of hitting the beer garden across the street). We will definitely pop into Pottstown again soon as the downtown looked quaint and there are several more breweries and restaurants to try out. If you visit, definitely plan to end up at JJs as the Friday night we were there they had a guitar player upstairs and another solo acoustic one downstairs (he was excellent). The locals are lively and friendly, service was great, definitely a nice spot."
