"I am the parent of two young men who attended Alina Lodge recently. One has been sober (over a year) since the day he walked in and the other has been sober for 2 1/2 years (since he walked in). I simply cannot say enough about Alina, the staff, the program, all of it. It's not easy for the guests or their families, but Alina allows their guests to persevere in treatment and get to the other side, so they can really see sobriety and all it has to offer. The outreach to the family is immediate, continuing, and if you avail yourself of it, life changing. The weekly zoom meetings to family members helped us understand what our loved ones were going through and what we can do for ourselves when dealing with their addiction, and in their recovery (and ours). Also, the aftercare programs Alina suggests and set up have helped keep our sons sober, healthy, happy, productive people. This really is the place to be for transformative healing."
"I was escorted to Alina in 2016 after a relapse. I was taken in to detox and rapidly titrated of benzodiazepines over the course of 48 hrs or less. I was left practically unattended during this detox until I attempted suicide due to such extreme lack of care and support through what should have been a highly supervised and careful process. I was transferred to a local psychiatric hospital and returned to Alina Lodge after one week. I was then informed that I would not have the opportunity of contact with my then barely 2 year old daughter other than a few hours visitation every six months over the course of 24 months, or possibly more. Even in my emotional and unstable state. I knew this was not in the best interest of my child nor myself. Within the following week, I signed myself out AMA and was escorted to a train station with my belongings. After I managed to return back to my home in California, I found safe refuge in the care of people who's goal was to help me sustain sobriety AND reunite me with my daughter. Within 3 months I had regular visitation multiple times a week, and full custody within 6 months. I truly believe if I had not trusted my own intuition and followed the recommendations of this program, I would have a broken or non-existent relationship with my now almost 10 year old child. I can't claim to know the practices Alina uses today, but I sincerely hope the policies have changed to support recovering mothers. I have wanted to share my story many times over the past years, and with my daughters 10th birthday approaching, I felt it was time. Alina lodge failed me twice. First, with an immensely irresponsible lack of safe detox, and second, recommended a severance of the bond between mother and child. The best decision I ever made was to leave Alina lodge. I truly hope changes have been made to no longer put lives at risk and the potential of lifeshattering consequences to recovering mothers. On a somewhat less important note, my dietary needs as a strict vegan were met with insult, humiliation and led to an extremely unhealthy lack of nutritional support. With all my hope for this facility, Alexandra. Edited, after noticing a huge influx of 5 star reviews all around 3 years ago. Seems like a scam. Even the language is shady, all saying close variations on this place "saved my life." Read the real reviews. At least there's consistency there that doesn't seem scripted and shady."
"Alina Lodge is a place close to my heart, where I was given the opportunity to delve into my core issues and recover from my addictions. I had been to multiple treatment centers before getting to Alina and it was Alina Lodge that helped me get in touch with the heart of my recovery. The staff was loving and patient with me and I am so grateful for the time they put in to help me find peace and joy in sobriety."
"This place was special to me before I got help here. My mother was a long term student back in 2009-2010. It was the only rehab that worked for her. I got 10 really good years after she left Alina. She was a different person, a Mom I hadn’t seen in a while. When she was diagnosed with cancer and ended up in Hospice, she was holding her 10 year chip. She’s my hero. So fast forward 11 years later, I needed help with my 28 yen with addiction. I had faith because I knew what this place did for my Mom. There were staff members still here that knew my Mom. They told me how proud she would be of me. These people, the staff, they really do care. They were in my corner and honestly, when my 3 month stay was up, I chose to stay longer and I ended up staying at Alina for a year. It was the best decision of my life. Not only did I deal with my addiction, but I dealt with the grief of losing my Mother, and they helped me strengthen my relationship with my partner and family. I’m now almost 3 years sober and never miss a chance to visit Alina to celebrate my friend’s anniversary’s of sobriety. This place saved my life. Literally. The brick my Mom placed ant Alina after she graduated in 2010. I get to see every time I visit."
"Alina Lodge single handedly saved my life! I had gone to 15 other facilities over the course of ten years and was not getting the help I needed from my drug and alcohol problem. I was dying and hopeless and Alina Lodge not only gave me hope it gave me the support and tools I needed to recover. Truly recover. The counseling team is second to none. The campus is beautiful and refreshing. This was an opportunity for me to get off of drugs and alcohol and to learn how to live again. The food was outstanding and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. Again, it was the treatment experience I needed to stay clean and sober. My parents are grateful… my children are grateful and I have a new and beautiful life. The CEO Bill Robins is a genuinely caring and loving person, the clinical team is on point and the rest of the staff all seem to be mission driven to save lives from the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction."
