Reviews of Inova Children's Sleep Center
"Worst nightmare! My child who is 4 years old came in and he was already scared of what they were going to do. They hooked him up to a blood pressure cuff for the first time and it hurt so he was then very scared! Then the lady who took us into the room was NOT good with children started explaining all the stuff she was going to do by hooking him up with wires and something up his nose. My child lost it. We kept asking for a minute to gather ourselves but she kept coming into the room and would not STOP talking! needless to say we had to leave without a sleep study and had to drive an hour and half home ....never again!"
"My brother has been coming here for years and has never had a problem. They recently changed companies and today we were required to fill out updated patient forms. My mother only speaks Spanish and required assistance filling out the forms. When my mother asked for help, the lady at the front desk, named Elaine, refused to help in any way. She continued to say that it was not company policy. Previously, the front office staff was very helpful and accommodating. My mother then called me to ask for help. Once the lady heard that an English-speaking person was on the phone, she then proceeded to read and translate the required forms. I do not understand why she couldn't have done that from the beginning. If they are not allowed to help fill out forms then they should notify patients that forms need to be filled out PRIOR to the appointment. The doctors are amazing and incredibly friendly and they are the reason why we loved this office. But they should consider retraining front office staff on how to assist patients, ESPECIALLY those that are non-English speakers."
"My son had a sleep study last night, I can’t be more happier, room are very clean, staff is friendly, they did took 45 minutes to hooks all the cables, between moment we check in and get all the sensors took 1 hr and 30 minutes. We previously had a sleep study in VCU and was a disaster and failure, his Dr. give us the nose line to take home to get him used so didn’t pulled out like he did at VCU and was successful!! So much difference between here and VCU. They do really care about kids with disabilities like my son that’s Autistic and don’t like anything in his nose. They did took time for hook him"
"Surprisingly easy! I went in with an almost 3 yr old for a night for his sleep study. Not something I was looking forward to at all. Here's why it was a 5 star experience: The place was really clean and well kept from toys to floors to the snack room. Bedrooms had carpet that didn't leave your socks nasty like in a hotel. Beds were clean, and bathroom was spotless. Ceiling fan - there was a ceiling fan!! I was so happy! TV with DVD player and books were in the room if we wanted. The room was HUGE and there was a second bed for parents to sleep. Whatever they do for noise control works great. It was a very quiet night and I did not hear anyone else. I was expecting some tears or trouble with my little guy, but we had none - the sleep tech, Harold, was awesome. He was very calm and patient with him and got him hooked up with all of the wires and belts and wrap. Then bed time! Overnight events were minimal. When the nasal tube thing got dislodged with normal sleep movement a quiet voice overhead alerted us to readjust. A few times, it needed more adjusting and Harold quietly came in to fix the issue and was careful not to stir him up, and was even considerate of me sleeping, which was a nice touch. I was really impressed all around from facilities to the staff. Thank you!!"
"overall wonderful experience from beginning to end. The staff was super efficient. I was explained the process along the way so that we knew what to expect and also the night of the sleep study the technician was explaining every step of the way. Every single person is to thank, thank you to the front desk staff, to the doctor (Haider), the overnight techs, you've all collectively made this an easier process/ experience"
