"This was the first time I was seen by an allergist. Excellent, knowledgeable physician and physician assistant. Thoroughly explained the procedure for allergy testing and the action plan following the procedure. I wasn’t rushed or hurried. I felt comfortable throughout the visit. I was given the opportunity to ask questions. The receptionist was polite and answered all my questions. Positive attitudes, professionalism, and an overall excellent team."
"We recently took my one-year-old son in for his egg allergy. The staff was extremely unorganized. They took a very long time to get to us and complete the testing even though there weren’t many people there. When they did the skin test, the timer went off after 15 minutes and they still didn’t come in to check his skin for so long afterward that the break out he had was almost cleared up by then. Waiting so long before and after the skin test was very difficult to do with a one-year-old in a small room who needs occupied and was very overdue for a nap by the time the appointment was over. The nurse didn’t seem to know what was going on. She kept referring to my son as “her” and “she” and then toward the end of the appointment asked if I happened to know his height and weight, which they were supposed to take at the beginning of the appointment. She then stated they needed his height and weight for properly dosing the medicine, which is very concerning that they’d rely on my guess since he hasn’t been to the pediatrician for his 12 month checkup yet. We left the appointment with zero answers that we didn’t already have, making the whole situation that much more frustrating. I still don’t know what the point was as we already knew from his lab work that he is allergic to eggs, and that’s all they told us. The appointment felt like a waste of time after having to wait half a year to get an appointment with them."
"New pt BEAWARE there is a $50 fee to cancel appointments under 24hr notice. My son was a new pt and I was not told about the cancelation fee when I schedule. When I mentioned that I wasn't aware of this, she said I would have received paperwork in the mail. I did not due to receiving an appointment 4 days after scheduling the appointment. That is not enough time to receive anything in the mail. I was then told "well you are aware now; we can reschedule but you have to pay the fee before he can be seen." I understand the fee, but I am not ok with not being told something and then expected to follow blindly. Edit to add: I had called to speak to the manger of the office. Left a VM on Monday and did not receive a callback. So unsure how we are gonna be able to resolve the issue."
"I have been a patient of Dr. Watkins for years and he’s always been an incredible doctor. He’s worked so hard to address all of my medical issues and I’ve seen so much improvement under his care. I wanted to leave a review specifically because I’ve been having some neurological issues. I collapsed in his waiting room and when the nurses were unable to help me up he came out personally and lifted me onto a walker. He was so kind about it and so concerned with my wellbeing. I have always been really happy at this office, but this day they went above and beyond."
"“Review is for Salisbury Location” I checked in on my phone ahead of time the day of our appointment to confirm we were still coming. We arrived 13 minutes late but spoke to the lady at front desk who called to make sure we were still coming. I confirmed we were only a mile away. We live approximately 40 minutes away and this is the only allergist within a reasonable driving distance that can see our son age 12 who has some allergy issues. We have been there a few other times where we were early for our appointment to wait over 15 to 20 minutes past our appointment time which I never was upset or complained and I am an understanding person. However, today we were 13 minutes late and spoke to the receptionist who called and told her we were in transit gps saying only a mile away and she acknowledged but when we arrived we were told they have a 10 minute policy and would still see my son but would not do testing which is why we were scheduled to come in the first place. There was no one else in the lobby and our appointment time was 9:30. Unfortunately, I told them if they could not do the testing which is what we were scheduled for we would just leave. The front office was agitated towards us and I kindly returned the same behavior. I am clearly upset about the whole situation and have an issue with how I was greeted when we walked in the front door and would have appreciated being told this on the phone instead therefore, I give them a 1 star for being unprofessional, not understanding and demeaning. It seemed they were more worried about being sticklers about us being 13 minutes late then treating patients especially a child who I took out of school for no reason. I will be looking for another provider for my son. This provider is not for us or should not be seeing families that have imperfect lives and schedules or run into uncontrollable situations and arrived 13 minutes late, unfortunately, with limited allergists available certified to treat a child a lot of others have to take it like it or not. I choose not and will find another provider even if I have to drive farther because we do have other choices."
