UM Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Bel Air

"Dr. Shristi Neupane is a horrible dr for thyroid conditions. Went in for my 1st appt and while waiting overheard her talking to the nurse outside my door bad mouthing me. Apparently she doesn't like the natural thyroid meds and made up her mind about me before speaking with me to find out why I was on those meds. The entire appt was a waste since she had already made up her mind and didn't ask many questions. I was willing to change meds and asked if she wanted to change them. She said no she'd wait for my labs. She treats 100% off labs, doesn't even care how a patient is feeling. Something you can't do with thyroid conditions. Spent maybe 10mins with me on a 1st consult and brushed me off completely."

"Knowledgeable staff but questionable billing. Doctor recommended educational session here, cost estimate was about $300. Seemed expensive, but decided to follow doctor’s recommendation. Had the session, about an hour. It was a little meandering and chit-chatty, took more time than we really needed because of that, but it was fine. Got the bill and it was almost $700. What not one single person in the office told me is that they count a session as 1/2 hour, so by having me there for an hour, they were able to charge me for two separate sessions. If anyone had bothered to tell me, I would not have let the session go so long or been so meandering- there was definitely not an hour’s worth of information relayed. When I called to get an explanation, I got the normal “not our problem/fault, call your insurance.” Feel very duped."

"Waited two months for the appointment, Endocrinologist. Because of them running late, I only had time to talk to the doctor for one issue and he said, I'll talk to you next time for the other in. Couple of weeks. Guess what, appointment was scheduled 4 weeks out and the office manager insisted that's what he wrote in his doctor's notes."

"My advice to people going here is look at other options first. I went for a first appointment, I had no issues with the nurse she was very kind and bubbly. I got to the exam room and had to get into a gown for stuff they could learnt so with my cloths on. The doctor I saw was questionable, while she was friendly she wasn’t very personable at all. The doctor asked me questions that I had already answered in a form that was sent to me the mail, apparently she didn’t even look at that form. Then once she got certin information from me she just stopped talking and told me that I couldn’t be seen there for that I would have to go somewhere else. At first she asked me what I was there for had she of looked at my file and paperwork I filled out and brought in she would have known. She looked at my labs I had done said everything looks good and said I can’t do anything for you, the. Decided to order another lab to humor me and told me the next appt she will prescribe meds “if” I wanted them. NOT a good experience at all. Check your other options first before you go here!"
