"Booked an all-day spa package for my birthday and left relaxed and refreshed. Kristin did my scrub and Vichy shower and my 90-min Swedish massage, and Joan did the facial. Both were terrific! And my lunch of a wedge salad with grilled shrimp was delicious. My sister called in a tray of chocolate sweets and champagne for me to celebrate my birthday and both were brought to me at the perfect time and what I didn't finish was stored in the refrigerator until I was ready to check out. I brought my kindle and hung out in the lounge area for about an hour after my last service and no one bugged me about it or made me feel uncomfortable for chilling there for a bit. Everyone else in the lounge area was respectful of others and kept their voices low when speaking, which they did very infrequently. This created a soothing environment. Yes, the spa's locker room is shared with hotel guests using the pool, but you don't spend much time in the locker room so who cares? I had a wonderful day and will definitely go there again. Next time, I'll try the dry sauna as well. ~~~ Update - I've been to The Spa at Turf Valley four more times since my initial review and still love it. Terrell is now my favorite for massages - he stretches your muscles and know how to work out kinks in my shoulders. I will definitely keep going back."

"Unfortunately I did not have the experience that I had hoped considering that I booked this massage and extended the time as part of my birthday celebration. The oil used for the Cannibliss massage had a very stale scent that almost smelled like old olive oil. I also thought that the oil would be warm but it wasn’t and unfortunately my therapists hands were also ice cold and remained that way throughout. I simply could not relax much during this massage and this was unfortunate especially having booked for 75 minutes. I was not offered any herbal tea after my service which was supposed to be part of my package. And when I explained to the receptionist who checked me out what my concerns were, she was a bit dismissive and sent me on my way with a roller ball of oil that smells nothing like what was used during my massage. It actually has a more pleasant peppermint fragrance and I kinda wish this would’ve been applied during my service, (would’ve made it much more enjoyable). I am giving 3 stars because the venue is decorated so nicely for the holiday season. I really wanted to have a 5 star experience on my birthday but unfortunately I did not."
