"Was calling around because My 4 year old ($1500) LG fridge/freezer stopped cooling. Was told by someone else I need to buy a new unit or pay $1000 for parts and labor. Spoke with someone at RTA who advised me of a specific recall LG has for their Refrigerators. Long story short, the rep at RTA got LG to cover full parts and labor for the unit. I paid $0 out of pocket..$0.. let that sink in.. I couldn’t even find my receipt of purchase. They just needed the serial number off the unit. I can’t make this up. I almost bought a new fridge. (I’m posting this because of all the negative reviews, and I feel like they went way above and beyond)"
"We have a warranty through Lowe's. When we called for service they set it up through here. We then received a call stating that they do not service our town or "shore points" and that we need to call Lowe's back. When I asked where they do go, they said the other side of our township and a town even further away so I tried to explain that our mailing address does not match our physical location. The response was that they will not come and Lowe's should know that so it is up to us to inform them that we need a new service appointment. The lady on the phone stayed very calm and sounds like she has to deal with these conversations a lot so props to her for that. She was very good at telling me to "get bent" without actually saying it out loud. Little did she know I was going to tip the person who came out $500 and buy lunch for the entire office."
"Zero stars if that were an option. Another provider assigned them to me on Monday to fix an appliance in my home. The scheduled date was Friday. They called Thursday after 5pm with a question. I had to run the appliance to make the error happen, so I said I'd call them back. 15 minutes later I did. No answer. Called multiple times, no answer and no machine to leave a message. Friday I call 90 minutes into my service appointment time to see what is up. He gets my info and asks me what the issue is. I tell him and he says they need to "order the part." I follow up asking if they are coming today and he says no. So if they have to "order the part" they knew they weren't coming YESTERDAY. He then lies, saying they'd been trying to reach me. My number has been the same for over 15 years and the first call from their number was the day prior to my appointment at 5pm. Had I not called them, they clearly wouldn't have called me. This is just unprofessional and disrespectful of people's time."
"I wish I could give zero stars - 1 star is one too many. We purchased the extended warranty on a refrigerator from Lowe's several years ago. We need a repair, so Lowe's scheduled with RTA. I came home 4 days early from our vacation at the NJ shore for a scheduled repair with RTA. Once home, I got a call from RTA stating that they couldn't come that day. The receptionist did not apologize and when I told her I came home early from vacation for this appointment, she simply stated "There's nothing I can do." They called a couple hours later and said they could come. The technician showed up in the afternoon, looked at the freezer and said he knew exactly what the problem was. He said he would have to order the part and it would take around 5 days to receive it. I waited almost 2 weeks and never heard back from RTA, so I called to follow up. They said the technician entered the job as "completed." I told them that the technician had not done any work, and they said they would look into it and call me back. I never heard back from them, so I called back the next morning. Again, they said they had to look into it, but would call me back. I never heard back from them, so I called back later that day and they said the technician informed them that he repaired the refrigerator and that the job was complete. The technician did no work on our refrigerator, and was here for approximately 5 minutes. RTA charged Lowe's for the visit and said the job was complete."
