"I don't know how anyone can say anything positive about this post office. They are rude and miserable. They recently hired a younger person and quickly trained her on how to be as ignorant as the veterans. I just avoid it . I have lived here for 30 years and they have always been terrible. I go to Downingtown and use that post office . In the Downingtown post office they greet you with a smile and a " good morning." In Thorndale you get a miserable " Next". God forbid you ask a question . You will get the eye roll , the sigh , and the "Really " look . Like you are really going to ask me a question . Then they give you the wrong answer anyway. I just use the Thorndale post office to drop off letters in the mailbox. The workers there are harder and dumber than a box of rocks. If you ever see a pleasant worker there , it is because they are just there for the day and were borrowed from Downingtown. They just need to clean house in Thorndale and hire all new people. Of course they will not because they cannot fire government workers. They forget that they are civil servants and that the tax payers play their salary . They need to find a new line of work if they do not like to interact with the public. I can't believe that anyone would give them anything more than a one star . Anything above that is a phony review. By the way , if I'm in a hurry , I will use the UPS store in Thorndale . What a difference and nice place to do business with . I almost forgot to mention that the Thorndale post office closes for lunch . A full hour . People can line up and they will wait until the last second to open the doors. Sometimes they are even late and get their rocks off. Many people want to use the post office during their lunch break . Well not this one . The lazy workers can't take turns . They just shut the place down . When they unlock the door after lunch , they just grunt and walk away . They go behind the counter and act as if they are getting things in order just to make you wait longer . Then you hear a miserable " NEXT"."
"Thorndale Post Office There is an older lady postal worker (at Thorndale, and as an occasional fill in at Downingtown, PA) that is so mean, you should either use the other line, or run for the hills. She is legendary among her co-workers as they all hate her, and if you mention her, they will say, "I know who you mean" You will know her by her condescending voice as she sounds like Madiera teaching the little boy to say "Thank You" in the Tyler Perry movie. I have personally helped many of her customers (since I've had years in doing shipping for eBay) to find the best shipping methods,as she takes pride in lack of information, making sure customers pay too much, or making them step away to sign a form that is needed, that she didn't tell them was needed in the first place. I have answered postal policy questions, helped others to find forms for their shipments, and explained the difference between priority flat rate boxes, vs. customer supplied priority box, vs First class weight cut-offs as well as expected service times, mind you as a customer, since it is so pathetically ugly watching her berate and disrespect everyone from young ladies to senior citizens. She has her certain customers, but that probably won't be you, as they leave you will see her turn on the condescending, "I'm better than you" and blank you attitude. I'm so nice to her, over and over, and she is horrible back, I tried many times, thought I could turn her into a human, but to no avail. Please USPS, put her in the back room where she cant do damage to your customer base. Or is that the objective?"
"What ever you do DO NOT go on a Saturday morning I stood in line for almost an hour just to send my mail. I would have given 1 star if it wasn't for the poor front-end lady working all by herself trying her hardest to get everyone in and out as fast as she could and being so kind to everyone! It's the holiday season there should be more then 1 employee."
"I’ve been to the store twice in the last week. I was overwhelmed and they helped me through the process. Thank you! Can’t imagine how tough it’s been over the last few years dealing with upset customers, including myself. I was gonna leave a negative review then realized half of the trouble I’ve experienced shipping things were self inflicted. The folks there have helped me sort things out properly so everything ships smoothly. Anyway, hope you all find this encouraging. May more smiles come, more encouragement, more love and more peace come to this store and to Caln Township. Thanks for everything you do. And apologies for how the public, including myself, can be so grumpy especially when it comes to shipping things. For some reason it’s a big stressor for us all. Thank you for helping. We’ll try to be more kind and grateful!"
"Everyone knows USPS is terrible and needs to go away, but this location really sets that bar of terrible a bit higher. Show up during normal business hours and you'll often be greeted by a sign stating they will "be back" at some later point in the day. Seriously, like really, seriously? I paid for my postage and should be able to drop off my package that won't fit in your tiny boxes during your normal business hours. I use UPS 90% of the time for the few extra dollars but I'll be making that 100% from here on out. What else can you expect from lazy diversity hires, though?"
