"We have become accustomed to instantaneous gratification. E-Commerce, social media, and online publications have changed our way of thinking. We now EXPECT everything to be at our fingertips instantaneously (including deliveries). The average cup of coffee, at a coffee shop, is around $4.90. For less than 1 dollar, we can put an envelope into the mailbox, and our expectations are delivery within a day or two (unless going coast-to-coast). We demand it. Without operations like Red Diamond, this is impossible. This is truly a 24/7 operation. The mail needs to be picked up and delivered regardless of traffic, roadwork, rain, snow, sleet, coldness, darkness, mechanical failures, or personnel challenges (hard to find drivers these days). While it is imperative to adhere to Safety First, it needs to be reciprocated on the road as well. Passenger cars often cut off tractor-trailers with inches to spare (the tractor-trailer can be 70 feet long in total weighing about 20-30 tons when loaded). Truckers keep the entire US economy moving (with a few exceptions like monetary supply/capital funding). No one likes to be stuck behind a truck. However, trucks are necessary to keep our wants/needs fulfilled. No one enjoyed the supply chain disruptions during the height of COVID. Trucking companies face some of the toughest small business challenges right now, and it will only continue to become more difficult. Freight has been commoditized albeit the cost of operating a truck only increases (regardless of diesel fluctuations). Drivers are becoming sparse. Regulations only increase and never decrease. This backdrop is happening all while lead times have the expectation of only decreasing which only increases these aforementioned challenges exponentially."
"Today on the parkway East I watched as this truck driver P52ooo--36 stayed in the left lane going Way over the speed limit, exceeding speeds of 80 mph in a 55, and tailgating cars. Now I'm seeing that there are several complaints about this specific driver with white hair and beard/mustache driving aggressively. This company obviously isn't taking this seriously and totally fine with risking the safety of other drivers on the road"
"We're passing through PA in a torrential downpour and as we're passing other cars this trucker flies up behind us and starts excessively flashing his brights for us to move over and gets super close to us even though we are rightfully passing other traffic. There was so much rain if we had to break he would've hit us for sure. He continues flashing his brights and then starts honking. This is disgusting and dangerous behavior and now I'm not surprised seeing all the other reviews but something better be done. No one driving a huge tractor trailer needs to act like that and he should be dealt with before he kills someone. Liscense plate AV 2964, truck number P5182052 driving west on 76 at 8:30pm 7/9/23."
"At our 5:30-ish morning social session before leaving work on night shift , I overheard two co-workers talking about consistently leaving early to "not get stuck behind the mail truck". I interrupted my own conversation to remark "F those guys..you guys too?" Mind you one of them drives the opposite way out of the city. I said Red Diamond..they say yep. Every freaking morning..Rt 28N, Rt 8 N..left lane..the entire way. Driver beside them and 4 cars behind? Not my problem apparently. Guys..its literally the first full sentence of Title 75, Chapter 33 "Rules of the Road in General" § 3301. Driving on right side of roadway. (a) General rule.--Upon all roadways of sufficient width, a vehicle shall be driven upon the right half of the roadway..except when overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction."
"Dangerous Driver!!! Older guy with white hair, white beard and glasses was coming full speed on my bumper across the Mckees Rocks bridge. If I tapped the brake we would have been crushed. Then he quickly swerved into the next lane. My kids were screaming thinking we were about to get hit. I got beside him and gave him some choice words and the guy just looked with no remorse. I honestly may file a police report that was just unnecessary."
