"Good historic venue, saw the opera company here and it was great! The balcony is set back a lot, so I would recommend orchestra seats. Not a very wide theater so there is a good view even off to the side. My only complaint is the seats have hard wooden backs, I would bring a cushion next time."

"Historically interesting 1929 opera house on the Chautauqua grounds, said to be the largest cast-concrete structure in the Eastern US at the time of it's construction. The proscenium arch retains some nice art deco elements surrounding a small (by opera standards) stage. Seats about 1300. Limited handicap access; no elevator. Portable air conditioners have been utilized in recent years to bring a bit of relief on hot summer nights."
